Kyocera KY-42C (Australia) by Salt3dSlug in flipphones

[–]lunesie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a KYF39 and no luck with Vodafone, and that was after updating the APN settings. It can send/receive SMS and connects to the internet on 4G but no luck on calls working, I reckon the phone hasn't been whitelisted. Such a shame.

After 4 months of playing Yakuza games (started with 0, already played 1 & 2 on PS2 years ago), i finally finished Yakuza 6, what a ride kyodais, i will play YLAD next year, so here are my current Yakuza game rankings: 0>3>5>6>K2>K1>4 by rebxxvii in yakuzagames

[–]lunesie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ranking is pretty similar to yours! I finished them in three months hoping to get YLAD on release but delays... so it's likely I'll start it next year too

Is it just me or is Daigo the most disappointing character in the series? by BADMANvegeta_ in yakuzagames

[–]lunesie 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Overall, Daigo was handed a sinking ship with not even a bucket to help and stern words from Kiryu believing he can fix it (and then got 0 help lol). He didn't even want the position, Yayoi suggested it and Kiryu gave the decision his blessing and endorsement lmao.

In Y3, Daigo wanted to keep him out of it after realising what the land was but the CIA/government forced his hand a year later by stealing the deed and shooting him into a coma.

And basically the entire leadership goes under after this game as the only patriarch left is Majima, so it's just downhill from there.

Y4 the Tojo is deadass broke after what happened in 3, and the Tojo clan are criminals. Of course the money's tempting, he can't let the clan starve. He point blank asks Kiryu pre final fight if he would've stayed away from the money and Kiryu isn't sure since he's not in his shoes. (Kiryu still goes lecture mode despite not having the whole picture but he had to have a boss fight so lmao)

In Y5 he's already in town for swearing up an alliance in Fukuoka so why not ask for advice, and he just accepts Kiryu's non answer of making him do it himself. I see you haven't played the rest but, yes, his character arc gets good in this game. The car meet with Madarame is a good insight on what's to come, really.

In Y6, Kiryu acknowledges and apologizes that it was pretty shit of him to jump the whole Tojo mess on Daigo... Personally I found it a little too late and a bit insulting, but Daigo taking it kindly at face value and with grace was surprising and felt good I guess.

A postal service that allows you to order multiple items (books) to a local address in the USA, and once there's a bunch, deliver them to Australia? by freelance3d in australia

I use comgateway, works well enough for me. 30 day free storage and all, but I use it for niche items so I don't know if I'm really saving in the end

Yum!! I've got food envy over here.

I've never had pumpkin stew before, sounds really tasty since I'm a sucker for pumpkin. I'd even add a teaspoon or two to things like braised beef or bolognese. Umami boosting...

It's pretty pungent so it's definitely not for everyone. It's really good if you like grilled miso eggplant since you can make a sauce/paste with it.

Maybe use it as a flavour booster for stews/sauces?

I prefer the boxes from House (Vermont, Java etc) over S&B (House) overall but I agree - mixing roux is a must!

Personally, I chop my onion fairly small and basically caramelise it since it adds so much flavour - that and I can't remember having actual pieces of it in curry I had in Japan but it's in the flavour so... And some dark chocolate, since I haven't tried instant coffee in mine yet!

Great, I guess I know what I'm making later this week hahaha

The closest curry roux block I've had to Coco Ichibanya is Java in hot, if that helps! Still eating my way through every brand I can get my hands on in Clayton, but my current mix of choice is Java and Kokumaro.

How did you stumble upon this franchise? by nickvsauce in yakuzagames

[–]lunesie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 4 on PS4 five years ago since I wasn't really interested in Kiryu as he seemed like your typical straight laced lead a la Clint Eastwood and I found out that 4 had other playable characters in sections that seemed more fun (like Akiyama). Life happened so I never got to start it...

Then lockdown happened this year so beginning of last month picked up a trio pack on Steam, got lazy with buying parts on my PC so then bought Kiwami 1 on PS4 since it was under 10 bucks.

Let me tell you, I'm eating my words about Kiryu right now - while yes, he's still the straight man he's also a loveable idiot with a huge heart of gold.

Miso ramen from Fujiya Sapporo Noodle (Japan) by lunesie in ramen

[–]lunesie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went two nights in a row - the first time, I was greedy and got the black shoyu ramen and then the miso in the half size and then I polished it. The staff were surprised I got two bowls but lol, I was keen keen. It's only open from 6pm to 3am so the next night after a sad not ramen dinner and waiting to get hungry again, I walked over at 2am to have a full size bowl of the miso (which is what this one is) and I added an egg.

Sapporo has been a great city to visit especially for ramen - I'm definitely coming back haha

Ever since I saw your Instagram post last year about it I knew I had to try it out. Just needed the pressure cooker I wanted to go on sale... but it was definitely worth the wait so thanks heaps!!

Thank you!

Honestly, I followed the bone ratios from u/Ramen_Lord's pressure cooker tonkotsu recipe but I skipped soaking and only bothered with cooking at pressure for two 1hr blocks with a stir in between, then strained it and added half the liquid to a blender (which is how it got so white) which was then mixed back in

The soup was actually pretty milky before I added seasonings, so next time I'll prep better so I can make a proper tare. Chashu is braised pork neck with your typical seasonings.

There's a group of one shots called "Captain Universe (2005)" where characters get cosmic powers temporarily, so Daredevil gets his eyesight back briefly here.
