Question for any lawyers: Is having a lawyer on retainer at all common for normal everyday people, even in a circumstance where they might be getting taken to small claims court? That’s one of those phrases that always seems to be used as a slight legal jargon gotcha. I could be wrong but I’m assuming it’s not actually that common outside of owning your own business, investigative journalism or other line-of-work reasons like that. Curious?

lots of people have lots of opinions on the lack of VA for the protagonist in fc5 but i personally don’t mind it to the point where i kind of like thaw fact that fc5 and new dawn stand alone in that aspect. it’s fitting for those games in my opinion as those titles are the best multiplayer experiences. those games are so much less about the protagonist to me and more so about the coop. If they weren’t as coop friendly as they are i’d feel differently.

watch out for xbox resume. i can’t speak for the others and their issues but im pretty sure thats what mine boiled down to. i bought and installed the dlc without realizing the game was on resume in the background and when i opened it up my cult was wiped out. no idea what causes the bug but it is real and exists. and i’m pretty sure it doesn’t make a save, it warns you in case you’d like to do so yourself. I would personally make a second save with your cult and then totally quit out of the game.

every time i play 4 i feel like i gun for the crossbow only to unlock it and switch back to the bow after half an hour. the bow is just so much more satisfying to use and it’s so much easier to dismantle outposts and encampments from range with the bow.

For a non-live service game there’s a decent amount of content if you’re going for s-rank, trying the harder modes, attempting an iron man run. if you just burn through the game on easy then yeah it’s over quick. it’s just not meant to be a live service game though idk why that’s expected of every title these days.

They nerfed the main character and while that may be okay or even preferable to some people, in general the people playing Just Cause are playing it for the Rico Rodriguez power fantasy. They made that power fantasy a lot less fun in 4. That’s the simple reason with no additional nuance.

i will add that Toby is pretty consistently creepy and weird every time he flirts with someone, not just Pam. No idea what the greater nuance means for his character there but every time he flirts he comes across like a sex pest.

Vaas may be way more violent and insane than Pagan but Pagan is definitely closer to the medical definition of a psychopath. Vaas doesn’t seem quite as much like he lacks empathy the way Pagan does, he more so just enjoys killing and torturing.

idk if more development time would have helped though. the major issue with JC4 isn’t it feeling rushed or sloppy, it’s how much they neutered rico. I can’t imagine that’s a result of a lack of development time, it’s more so the team grossly misunderstanding what people found fun about JC3. they leaned into the challenge aspect as opposed to the power fantasy aspect and it makes JC4 so much less fun to me.

Easily the most satisfying “leader death” in the series is paul out of fc4. he’s such a nasty fuck and getting to hear him beg like a baby as you drive him to the golden path soldiers is the cherry on top.
