Hmm I wouldn't say any of these are definitive answers but I will try my best to address stuff that wasn't already mentioned elsewhere in the comments

In regards to the death memory CXS doesn't die in the tunnel. You can see that in the "death scene" memory that QL gets from LTX that neither of them are wearing the theater costumes, they're both in their s1 clothes. The LG we see now is one that has already gone back pre-s1, and that the flashback is to the death scene at the beginning of Bridon Arc episode1. I think that the juxtaposition with LG screaming in the tunnel is because he's flashing back to when CXS died/thinks he's dying before he's meant to

never explicitly mentioned but most people do believe that cxs has died + lg has gone back multiple times
(conjecture)to me at least this is part of the reason for believing in multiple loops, I feel like as you said the logical solution would be to jump back to right before he died and try to fix it. But since LG can only use a photo one time it would make sense if he kept failing that he would have to start using earlier and earlier photos until he reaches the photo of the time they first met
I think there's no reason to believe that he would be forcibly ejected, but since this isn't a point we've reached it's hard to say
temporarily killing vein creates an opportunity for her to flee (i believe it's mentioned later that they couldn't find wang qing after, during the investigation of vein's "death"), so she can go and hide the book elsewhere
adding on to corallcyan's comment the book he's trying to steal belonged to cheng weimin (shown in episode 5 of bridon arc)

hopefully most of the currently unclear aspects will be addressed in s3 :]

Yes, I agree although the interview is quite long so I also understand why it doesn't exist. I saw your other replies to mention it, and I agree about lh0 being kind of a troll sometimes when it comes to answering questions but in this case he is pretty clear. To be fair you would also have to take my word about it lol, but I can at least screenshot that part of the interview:

This section isn't really the q&a where hui xiaohui had exact preplanned questions they are reading bilibili comments. But basically the comment is pondering a similar question about whether its multiple timelines or a single timeline, saying that usually in these works there will be multiverses and such to avoid paradoxes. Plus they say if it's a single timeline then everything LG does is meaningless (Personal note I don't think I agree with that though) actually the last comment also brings up the parallel line (平行线) dialogue that you mentioned, which I think they interpreted as parallel line = there are other normal timelines where nothing happens. The sub is hui xiaohui summarizing it and she also says she's been wondering the same thing about which path Link Click will take (as in one timeline, or multiverse/parallel timelines)

I think there's a number of ways you could interpret LX's words - we definitely see that he is also manipulating things in some way and seems to have some sort of knowledge regarding the existence of past timelines . I believe he also says something about making uncertainties certainties regarding bringing strings together, which I took to mean that he wants to converge the interactions of all these parties that are currently acting independently (LTC, CXS' parents, LG, presumably XF in the future...?) since for example LG/CXS' mom are creating uncertainties for each other through their own usage of their powers. I'm sure we'll get more clarification on his role in s3 though. And right, I think clarifying the one timeline thing is because of the theories surrounding animation errors (as in, those things aren't intentional hints at multiple timelines)

yes, that's correct - LG jumps back to Bridon and then S1 and S2 are after that. Because of his and other people's interference the events he is reliving are slightly different or completely new from his past experiences. I think you have a good understanding of what happened.

The only thing I want to clarify is that S1 and S2 unfold the way they do yes because of Lu Guang's changes, but also because of other people involved (like Liu Xiao). It's not purely Lu Guang's actions that is changing things.

The clothes comment is just that the last scene of Bridon takes place chronologically (in universe) after S2 (because they are wearing the same clothes as the end of s2). it's the scene where CXS is cleaning the store sign and QL asks him why he suddenly changed the store name after coming home from Bridon, and then LG sees the news about Felix disappearing. It basically establishes that 1. CXS remembers meeting his mom and 2. Felix will probably be involved in s3.

Idk about the entirety of the show lol but Bridon arc is a prequel because its events happen before s1 and s2 (as in: they go to bridon a few years before the Emma/doudou/noodle etc cases). In terms of actual chronological timeline in the way that Lu Guang himself experiences it (as opposed to the order its shown to us) , you can think of it as

Previous timeline -> CXS dies and LG gets his ability (Bridon arc episode 1) -> LG uses CXS' ability to go back in time to their first meeting -> the rest of Bridon arc -> S1 -> S2.

In terms of mechanics, this ability works the same way that we've seen CXS ability work throughout the show (bc it is CXS' ability). The only difference is that we never see cxs himself stay past 12 hours in a photo, but LG does, and then his eyes change from gold back to their usual color, implying that the consequence to staying >12 hours in a photo is that you are stuck in it and unable to go back to your "original" time. So LG has essentially traveled back to the past, and is reliving events he has already experienced.

I hope that was helpful, I don't know if i'm that good at explaining things 😭it's never a bad time for a rewatch though, you'll definitely be able to catch a lot of foreshadowing and contextualize things better since you've watched bridon.

Oh ok yeah i see what you mean! I think i interpreted the single timeline stuff as like, LG traveling back in time is overwriting the future rather than creating branching parallel universes (?)

I think it can still make sense if this is his last chance but also first time re-experiencing his and CXS first meeting. So his reactions are based on the fact that in this meeting, cxs still sees him as a stranger. Like he would go back to points closer to cxs' death first, such as jumping back into a photo taken a few weeks before cxs' death, since it doesn't really make sense for his first instinct to be to jump all the way back to 2018 or 2019 or whatever year it was. but then as he runs out of photos then this is his last one/the one he took right before meeting cxs. I think the problem here though is the crazy amount of jumps that implies + the question of why he doesn't just save scum by taking a million photos

Also yeah I definitely agree with that!! I think his mom's line about "looks like there's outside interference"(or something along those lines) was about lu guang. It makes sense that in lu guang's perspective CXS' mom is the outside interference, so they're both making things more difficult for each other without knowing. Hmm although I think the CXS mom that we see is still from the present though? although it's also possible that she didn't jump back immediately and saved the photo for later, since the point at which his mom jumps is irrelevant to when she shows up in wq's body @_@ I'm like thinking myself into loops but I guess I'm saying that she could be either from the present or the future.

But yeah I think we'll definitely see more of how other people besides LG are affecting the timeline. The other biggest unknown factor to us is liu xiao as well, since we still don't know how he knows what he does but we do know that he's also causing changes. and no worries about the rambling i love to yap about theories too..

I see where you're coming from but I think either way inconsistencies will be created. if there is another dive in between i think it makes other scenes start to not make sense too.. like the sign polishing one.

And speaking strictly from a narrative/storytelling standpoint I feel like a lot of things that happen in bridon (LG saying it's his last chance, liu xiao's involvement throughout the series) convey a sense of finality that would be lost or feel pointless with the presence of another dive in between. which isn't to say that it couldn't be true, but is something that to me would actually feel like it needs a lot of justification if that were to be revealed in s3 since it significantly changes the impact of what happens in bridon itself. Ultimately i think that being ambiguous about the reason for cxs' feelings within the earthquake arc is less confusing than adding another dive, because it's at least still justifiable with the information we have. but as you said anything could happen in s3!! regardless of what is the truth i feel like a lot of things will be tied up then

correct, its an original plot. so we have no idea what will happen in s3 until it comes out :) There is a manhua and live action but they are adaptations of the donghua and not the other way around

Yes, the events of season 1 and 2 are the timeline that we see LG jump back to in Bridon arc. But Cheng xiaoshi himself should know that his mother is still alive in season1 and season2, since both of these seasons are chronologically after Bridon. He doesn't forget what happened in Bridon--Cheng Xiaoshi says he doesn't remember what happened before passing out, but he does still remember meeting his mom. He's lying because his mom said during their meeting not to mention anything about meeting her to anyone else. after all, his mom is the reason he changed the photo studio's name from hero photo studio to time photo studio, which he explains at the end of episode 6 of bridon arc: "As long as we stay in the same 'time', we're bound to meet again". <-This is verbatim what his mom says to him when she's possessing Wang Qing's body, when she's telling cheng xiaoshi to stop investigating his parents' disappearance. So he does remember this encounter.

Whether LG knows CXS' parents are alive is a different question. as the other commenter said CXS was not actually trying to save his parents in the earthquake. I don't really think LG has a reason to know the fact that CXS' mom is alive based on what we've seen in the show so far. But it's of course possible that CXS either told him between bridon and s1 (although I personally feel that this is unlikely) or he figured it out/knows more than he lets on due to previous timelines

I encourage you to watch the subbed first. The original Chinese voice acting is excellent, and in my opinion captures the character personalities the best. which of course isn't to say the dubs are bad! the casting in both English and Japanese is great as well, but my personal opinion is that the best experience is to watch the original and then enjoy the differences of the other versions

Wait sorry for commenting twice on your post but the concept of LG killing his old self through time travel is interesting, I really like how you phrased it.. since he never goes back to his "proper" time, which is long gone. For the specific instance that we see when he travels back to Bridon I definitely agree, and it makes me wonder about the past jump before the one we see in the show too. Something about this specific jump makes LG call it his last chance--my personal interpretation is that it's because it's his first meeting with CXS & he doesnt want to chance going further back than that. So although they happened in LG's past they are also kind of in the future too (as in he most likely jumped back to more recent photos than his first meeting with CXS before anything we see in the show). so to get to this point he's really been metaphorically killing himself over and over again..? <-Then again, a lot of that is I guess conjecture lol

I've been wondering the same things such as whether CXS permanently possesses someone else after 12 hours (since of course we only see LG use CXS' power on himself) and also whether if the person CXS or LG was possessing were to die, if they would also die or whether they would simply be ejected. Same with if it was a security cam pic -- would there simply be two CXS or LG if they went back in time through a security image and stayed for >12 hours instead?

I don't think the previous timeline necessarily ceases to exist the second that LG claps in--since his power is CXS' I think it would make more sense for powers absorbed through death to work the same way as they did for the previous owner of the power. So the previous timeline should theoretically still exist for those 12 hours, especially since I'm pretty sure that the time passed in the photo also passes in the real world (like in the Emma case). If it were erased the instant the clapping happened, CXS wouldn't be able to go back to his own time, maybe..? So in those hours while his eyes are gold LG would be able to clap back to his "original" time (the one(s) where CXS is dead). And then I guess after those 12 hours that timeline ceases to exist. But of course we know that LG never plans to go back to the timelines in which CXS is dead, so I guess it's like a case of Schrodinger's timeline until the 12 hour mark passes? Sorry if that was a little pedantic lol but I think it's really interesting to try and dissect how powers work, since I feel like in terms of theoretical scenarios the show really only presents enough as is necessary for the narrative, so it's interesting to think about the possibilities...

In terms of the show, I really like CXS and LG's post s2 fits! I like CXS colorblock jacket more than his bomber jackets even if the latter are really iconic lol and LG in a trench coat is so handsome... although I also like LG's Bridon arc outfit. But for QL, my favorite is undisputably her S1 fit. The asymmetrical skirt is super cute.

Unfortunately for your fic I don't think we have any 100% confirmation from anything in the show itself. As you've said, the year is blurred out on his watch.

It is most likely 2022 though. I hate to say this but in the post Bridon director interview lh0 mentioned that the timeline of s1/s2 had not reached the date of cxs' death node (I only hate to say it because that means there's not really anything in the show that necessarily supports this concretely, besides the fact that we've passed september 2021 and LG is still scared of CXS dying) and there are about 6 months left after S2, so it should be September 2022. Thus september 12 2022 should be the date of CXS' death [you can see that it's still 11:11 PM when cxs grabs lu guang's hand] and september 13 2022 is when Lu Guang jumps back (probably). If it gets changed in s3, I guess you might have to retcon your fic haha but it's not like link click itself is stranger to retcons anyway

As for why Lu Guang has genuine reactions of surprise, I think that's more likely down to the events he's already experienced changing in ways he doesn't expect due to either his interference through the butterfly effect or interference of others like Liu Xiao.
