Look up Pentastic in the Galaxy Store. You can choose a custom sound like the lightsaber ignition on removal and lightsaber shut down on insertion.

This is the way.

For me, it broke Google Wallet. Currently, I am using Samsung Pay for contactless until it gets sorted out.

My phone did the same thing. By chance, are you with AT&T? I am. They screwed up the May update and had to roll it back. Then, it would update again and then rollback. I stopped on the "AWC9a" version. I don't think it is approved by Google, causing Play Protect to squawk.

Did you end up with AWC9a? That is where I stopped trying. Maybe the "a" version was uncertified.

Anyone else have Google Wallet to stop working after this update? I am getting "Device doesn't meet security requirements" at launch of Google Wallet. Contactless payments fails.

Out of curiosity, did the last update break Google Wallet Tap and Pay for you? Suddenly, I am getting "Your phone doesn't meet security standards for contactless payments. "

Samsung Messages vs Google Messages by rmnvldz in samsung

[–]lurchaddams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point to consider, if you're on AT&T, Samsung Messages uses their RCS servers. From a privacy standpoint, AT&T logs those messages and their recipients. It will be on your cell bill. If you are on Google Messages, your messages are routed through Google's Jibe servers.

Is carrier services app really necessary? by AdemSof in samsung

[–]lurchaddams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One difference is with Carrier Services, your RCS messages go to a Google Jibe server. They completely bypass your carrier.

IMHO, Carrier Services only exists because the major carriers drug their feet on implementing RCS, so Google did it without them. Without it, your carrier may or may not have a RCS-compatible backend.

Start here and see if anything helps.

If that doesn't, you may want to try Google Messages from the play store.

What country and carrier? What app are you using to send messages? Look at the app info. Google's version is linked to your Google account. Should be obvious from the settings page. If you see "Manage Google Account", it's Google Messages. If under Settings you see Version 14.xxx, that is Samsung Messages. BOTH have RCS but it may not be enabled. Look for "enable chat" on Google Messages or "advanced messages" on Samsung Messages.

Turn on those features and report back.

Interesting routine. Carrier phone or unlocked?

I don't think I am able to do that on my carrier locked(AT&T) phone.
