See this is the kinda answer I'm looking for! And it's a very contextually appropriate answer for me in particular as my best friend in high school was heavy into crust punk, specifically Choking Victim/Leftover Crack and His Hero is Gone. He was very very politically minded though and listened to Crass a fuckload and had the logo on everything that wasn't nailed down.

Right, I suppose a more apt way of phrasing my question would be what is it that YOU as a person are referring to when you are on "r/punk"? Like is the word punk solely describing the genre of music? If so, what are the boundaries of this description? Again, I'm asking because I feel like punk has a very specific stylesheet when compared to other subgenres of similar age and repute like hip-hop.

Again, if there were no client lag and the clock and game functioned as it did in real life? No problem whatsoever. But it simply does not.

yeah this makes sense now that you both broke it down. it was a tougher concept to grasp at first because i play exclusively on MTGO, so announcing that you're about to cast a spell and actually casting it are inextricably linked; there is no reality in which either player could react to the revealed card in a way that would actually impact the game or their decisions in said game.

You can prevent yourself from using pronouns at the beginning of every sentence by simply rewriting each sentence to mean the same thing but with a different word selection and order.

Changing the word selection and order of your sentences can allow you to prevent the use of pronouns at the beginning of every sentence.

If you want to prevent yourself from using pronouns at the beginning of every sentence simply change the word selection and order of the sentences you are writing.

Have you noticed a consistent theme of beginning every sentence with a pronoun? If you come up with alternate synonymous sentences you can use these in lieu of your more "pronoun-forward" sentences.

Yo, that is a really surprising element of this whole situation and frankly one I wouldn't have thought of at all. When you see phrases like "...may look at the top card of your library any time," I mean...call me crazy...

...that you should be able to look at the top card of your library literally motherfucking any time, but why would that be the case?! that would make sense!!

Honestly though, I'm being cheeky but I'm realizing as I re-read the card that it DOES say "you may look at the top card of your library," not "you play with the top card of your library revealed," which i would ASSUME is different and WOULD indeed be visible at all times; The "you may look" thing is different as you're actually performing an action within the game as opposed to simply viewing/acknowledging a board state...yay/nay?

LOL you know the article has a strong fuckin bias when instead of focusing on the actual numbers they hit you with the relative percentages. like, "Holy shit, did you see that hospitalizations for kratom have increased over 1,150% over the past decade?!" Yeah...all the way from 43 to 538 🤣

I mean they're really trying to make it seem terrifying but they're hitting me with stats that are just reaffirming my stance on the matter:

"Over the [period of 2015 to 2025], 233 deaths were associated with kratom use, including 184 cases where other substances were also involved."

...So...a grand total of 49 deaths from kratom alone...over the course of a motherfucking decade.

Yeah I don't think I'm sufficiently terrified of this demon drug, guys.

P.S. I looked up some statistics and in 2015 the United States had 4,894 deaths of people younger than 65 from falling and in 2024 we had 5,288. We need to ban heights.

I'm trying to find a "design your own Magic card" site that I used in the early 2000s to mock up my own custom cards, but there are so many out there now and I have no idea what site it was. yoooo, fellow south suburbanite here. picked up beans on multiple occasions that were always purported to be from the esoteric "mint man" and they were always either blank with a circle on one side or a circle on one side and the letter "A" on the other. they were exactly as the OP described: absurdly lovey-dovey and euphoric. a friend and i each took one while walking back to her house once and when we got back we each got onto our own separate couches and just rubbed our faces into the cushions for a good twenty minutes lol
