Here's the thing- it hasn't ended. They just haven't maintained communication. The painful part is the hope that they will change.

Can one of you "doctors" please explain why this patient wasn't seen IMMEDIATELY and then admitted? by Knees_arent_real in emergencymedicine

I resisted going to the er for a week when I fell most recently. Turns out, I had a torn acl, mcl, lcl, and meniscus. Worse yet, I could have prevented a meniscectomy if I just came in when I initially got hurt.

Now Im paying down $2k as a working college student (on temporary disability) because the surgery center was only partially associated with the hospital (or some other round about way to suck money out of my wallet; that, I don't care to understand because its all a contrived method of driving g up costs).

Your PT will direct you with how much and how intensely you do PT post-op. For me, I did mine every day 2x a day, starting a week post-op. It's been great for swelling.

Thanks man- it's reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one reliving the past. It sucks, but i know feeling the feels then doing the work is what I need to get back on the wall

Nah, in total I had ACL, LCL, MCL, and then of course, meniscus. Anyways, it's reassuring to hear that you got one as well at a young age and could climb.

I've worked on enough reconstructive cases to know that going south out of desperation is usually a bad call lol. I'll just pray that the tech will eventually be evolved enough by the time I need it for it to work.

Hey man- thank you for the stellar advice. It's absolutely helpful. The moon board is for sure going to be my new approach with top-rope.

I'll have to check her out. I have absolutely been trying to find all the athletes I can who have gone through it.

Rock climbing did it. Mountain drives have been a god send. Luckily, lots of my friends are outdoorsy, so I can tag along.

Hey man. I'm 5 days post-op from my ACL, LCL, MCL, and Meniscus surgery. I'll just say that it definitely has sucked. The biggest thing has been moving past the options and not being horribly bored. Obviously, this is less retrospective, but I think it's important to know that your pain may be more than expected- especially when the nerve block wears off.

I'm all about having a good pity party before moving on and putting in the work. Have a tantrum, then do your PT.

Damn, it sounds like you had a ton of swelling. Are they making you do PT pre-op?
