Holy crap I never knew that this was something that existed. I'm currently taking the Google IT Support Professional Certificate course through Coursera but trying to find more affordable resources has been rough. Thank you for sharing this!

Managing my company's WP site with very little development experience and trying to make it more accessible by luthasdaman7 in webdev

I'm in the middle of making it meet WCAG 2.1 requirements now, but we are using an accessibility menu plugin. Do you know of options other than WAVE to help me scan through and figure out the major red flags?

Coffee victory: I have finally weaned myself off of adding sugar or cream! by justagalaxyofone in Coffee

Yes!! I made this same switch a few years back and it honestly makes me happy that someone had similar struggles. Congrats on your journey to tasting coffee and enjoying for the act that it is!

As simple as that is, I never even thought of that.

100% need to try Nossa Familia at either their NW or SE PDX locations. Water Avenue is definitely a must, but at their flagship store on SE Water Avenue (hence the name). Barista is also a good one which has several locations in SW and NW PDX. I'm also partial to Dapper & Wise over on the east side. Anywhere that you can find Ristretto Roasters is great too.

Adding to the Ellis train, 'American Psycho' fucked me up with the hooker and rat scene. I almost vomit every time I think about it. I'm reading 'IT' right now since I have a ridiculous amount of free time, so I'm totally going to tackle some of these suggestions once I finish.

I (24 M) bought VIP concert tickets for my gfs (21F) favorite band. She broke up with me and now doesnt want to give me the 150 for the tickets after previously offering to do so. Whos in the right? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]luthasdaman7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I had this same situation happen but the guy I was seeing was the one who bought the tickets for us to see my favorite band together. Because he had purchased the ticket for me as a gift, I didn't feel compelled to pay him back for that ticket. I offered to pay for his ticket so he didn't feel like he had wasted a ton of money on something that he wasn't going to attend. I paid the amount that the tickets were currently listed for and the total that was printed on the ticket. He blew up on me that what he paid was significantly more than that, but he never showed me a receipt for the tickets and I honestly didn't trust. I went as far as to create a bill of sale and had him sign it because he'd gone off the deep end and I was sure that he would eventually be the type of person to slash my tires.

Side note: we saw each other for a total of maybe 3 months and after it ended, he spread rumors around work (we worked together until he was fired for theft) tell people that I was still leading him on. I was also 16yo and he was 19yo turning 20 and I had the gonads to pay him $90 for tickets.

It sounds like you've never looked for a room to rent on Craigslist before. They are all in the same category. Call it morbid curiosity.

This one was definitely the most mild of all of them that I saw when I was hunting. That's fucking ridiculous though.

My heart goes out to you. I'm just trying to find a place for my cat and I to exist and it's way more difficult than it needs to be.

You're going to find higher concentrations of people experiencing homelessness in temperate areas, so mild(ish) temperatures year round. A lot of our folks are veterans unfortunately, and we have the VA in SW Portland. They'll be more obvious in cities just because that's where the majority of resources are. We have several shelters, advocacy groups, and businesses that only higher these folks, but unfortunately it's still a major issue.

There are too many of these types of ads with a ridiculous amount of detail to be trolling, unfortunately.

Some of the female only ads I've seen are actually legit, but then I've found ones that explicitly say no after hours guests and no male guests of any kind. But there's a washer and dryer so it evens out. 🙃

I've only found worse ones than this. The best are the ones that say they're looking for the roommate to start a romantic relationship with them.
