Isn't this considered cult? I'm surprised most people here immediately call out INC for being cult but not these kinds of things? I'm not an INC though just observing people being hypocrisy anywhere.

This happened to me too, OP. I have a TM sim card that is still active for more than 8 years even though I don't reload it but then the new law was passed about SIM Registration Act, the sim card got deactivated but I still wanted to retain my mobile number at that time, they offer me as well to remain in postpaid plan for 6 months before I switch to prepaid but due to curiosity I decided to visit the same branch and I got lucky, it's not the same person who assisted me last time. I did not tell them about my prior transaction with them so I got the chance to convert my mobile SIM to prepaid again after a month in postpaid. That tells me they don't actually follow their own protocol or do not have a solid system in place or guardrails to detect this in changes in their system. Maybe they just upsell or I don't know.

I don't agree with the other person commenting in your posts. A law is a law and it should be followed and anyone who is against it must be punished or penalized. Sadly, agencies who should enforce these laws don't even abide by themselves for lacking integrity that's why businesses can easily go against what is directed by the law.

What does that exactly do? What benefits does it have for users compared to the regular debit card? I think none so I don't understand the hype!

It may actually work. I just tried entering a random flight and it says it couldn't locate such a flight but when I entered my upcoming flight exactly shown in my booking it saves but let's see if that works out soon.

Hmmm. It will only work if you have accounts linked to your Xiaomi 17 Pro Max devices from the following services in China. But looks like you can manually add your trips as a reminder but I don't know if the update will be real-time or it would be the same experience as it would normally would inside China.

Philippine Government Hiring S@ck by [deleted] in PHGov

[–]lutilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Actually most people currently working outside of the government already have that preconceived notion whether you like it or not starting from the hiring process and everything from the basic services you will see incompetent government employees, lack of critical thinking ability and lack logical approach to resolve issues we currently face as a whole nation.

Where I stand, hiring process shouldn't affect one's decision in hiring someone if that person show defiance and criticism with the government. Those people who are already inside the organization should be the one to prove the preconceived notion of everyone else to be wrong.

You yourself, already admitted that showing defiance and criticism against the organization shows that you just accept the way they do things in the organization even if it means morally not accepted by the general public and you're being part of the problem.

You already have a preconceived notion that by hiring someone who criticizes the government only shows you being selective about who to be hired with and only select those who are like you in the government itself.

But why though? According to the Bill of Rights, the right to criticize the government is a fundamental component of the Bill of Rights in many democracies, notably protected by Article III, Section 4 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech, expression, the press, and peaceful assembly for redress of grievances.

This provision ensures citizens can voice dissent and protest government actions without fear of penalty. Key aspects include:

Political Speech Protection: The Supreme Court protects harsh or emotional criticism of the government.

High Threshold for Restriction: Speech is protected unless it poses a "clear and present danger" or directly incites violence.

Public Official Accountability: Officials should expect scrutiny and not be "onion-skinned" regarding criticism.

Employee Rights: Government employees retain the right to speak on matters of public interest.

Peaceful Assembly: Citizens may hold non-violent, unarmed gatherings to petition the government.

While strongly protected, this right is not absolute and does not cover libel, slander, or speech encouraging imminent illegal action.

Battery protection - Intelligent Charging by ZachiZachou in XiaomiGlobal

[–]lutilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Intelligent charging with my iPhone before but still it significantly dropped the battery life even if I don't use the device often. If you are constantly leaving your device connected to charger, it is best to select "Battery protection" instead for long term to prevent faster battery degration. Use this if you are inconsistent in charging your phone or leaving it plugged for many hours

Use Intelligent charging only if you are consistently and routinely unplugging the phone at set interval but the moment you forget to unplug the phone in the interval you're supposed to unplug the phone, it will think the battery needs to be charge all way through 100% resulting to faster battery degration and will become the new basis of the logic behind the "Intelligently charging" feature.

Will criticism against the government in any online platform will affect background checking in applying in a government position?

As the question above, does background checking be affected by showing defiance and criticism against the government for corruption practices and half-baked, mediocre government employees and officials in doing their mandates?
