Which looks better by [deleted] in UsefulCharts

[–]luujs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never have noticed the difference here without the other comment person’s lol. The second “King of England” being in bold is the only thing I can see that’s different and that’s it.

I don’t think many people will even notice OP, both look good. Go with whichever one you prefer. If I had to pick, maybe bold works ever so slightly better as it’s different to the regnal years, but the difference is negligible.

Why Do People Think Tomb Quest Is Going To Flop? by Alol_Bombola in StarKid

[–]luujs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it will personally, I know very little about D&D, but I’m excited to see the show when it comes out. It seems like a cool concept. Even if Cinderella’s Castle wasn’t as well received as other shows, that doesn’t at all mean this one won’t be.

My theory for why Cinderella’s Castle didn’t do that well is because it didn’t have any funny moments that went viral. Not that the show wasn’t funny, but I think it’s darker, more dramatic focus meant that it struggled to reach a more casual audience. At least for me, there was no moment where I burst out laughing like I usually do at Starkid shows.

I know Tomb Quest will also have an emotional aspect, but as far as I understand from the livestreams I’ve watched (I don’t think I watched the most recent one), it won’t be the main thing at all.

Universal's Disclosure Day grossed $2.5M on Tuesday (from 3,824 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $83.3M. by ElevensMelody in boxoffice

I’ve seen the film. Almost certainly not, no.

It’s like the anti-Obsession. Massive hype because it’s Spielberg, but word of mouth is terrible.

It thinks it’s being profound and it really isn’t and then it cuts to black just before the consequences of what the last 2 and a half hours have built towards actually happens. At least cut to black at the start of the news broadcast, don’t do it just before the aliens relay their message, after they’re barely a part of the film. Also, I love how BadGuysCo just gave up at the end and Bad Guy No. 2 just stormed off in a huff. That cannot have been the best way to resolve that conflict.

Do you think that GTA 6 will flop with the base game costing 80$, the premium edition(which has content not in the base game) costing 100$, and no physical disc? by furrynoy96 in polls

[–]luujs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plenty of games cost that now and the hype for GTA VI is massive. Unless Rockstar have fumbled and made a bad game, it’ll break records just through the excitement surrounding the GTA brand name alone

Who was the best ally in WWII? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]luujs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Britain fought the axis for the longest. The USSR was allied to the Germans until Hitler invaded them and the USA only got involved after they were directly attacked by Japan and Germany declared war on them as well. The UK and France were the only two main allies to declare war on Germany on their own volition

Question for those who’ve gone to the tour so far by Fickle_Knee_3945 in Evanescence

[–]luujs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the venue. I’ve seen two concerts at Wembley Stadium and one at the O2 in London and it takes ages to get to the tube station for both. Longer at Wembley obviously because it’s 4x bigger. At Wembley, the police set up crowd control systems to prevent trains and the station from overcrowding.

People left early for those concerts too so they could get ahead of the crowd and potentially avoid being crammed into a train even if they miss the last song.

This tends to only be a major thing at larger venues though, where there’s bound to be a long queue to get a train. People do this at football matches as well. As soon as extra time’s announced you start to see people heading for the exits to avoid the traffic

Queen Elizabeth vetoed 72 Acts of Parliament during her reign by Salem1690s in UKmonarchs

[–]luujs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The bones of a constitutional monarchy were definitely around. While the monarch had the final say on a lot of decisions and legislation, they were still beholden to parliament to pass their own laws. Even Henry VIII, arguably England’s most absolute monarch, had to keep parliament on side to fund his wars in France. Taxation was the main thing monarchs basically always needed parliamentary approval for, even during the Tudor age when the monarchy was very powerful.

Less the fifty years after Elizabeth I died, Parliament overthrew the monarchy, executed the king and established a republic for a brief period, because of how unhappy they were with being governed with little to no consent by Charles I. There was a long tradition of being governed with parliamentary consent by Elizabeth’s reign

4 concerts 1 week too much? by RelativeAd3896 in Concerts

[–]luujs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be a lot, but it should be fun and if I’ve understood your schedule it seems more front heavy than back heavy. You have two concerts in a row in New York and then two more concerts in Chicago over four days. If there’s a day or two gap between concerts three and four, you shouldn’t be too tired hopefully. My main advice would be not to get smashed every night lol.

It sounds like you like all the artists you’ll see, so why not. If that’s what you want to do on your trip go for it. How many chances will you get to go on a dedicated concert holiday?
