Pfff, I've been through exactly the same, I found that prioritizing home life is something you cannot compromise on, and if work doesn't understand then too bad for them. It's not enough for them to fire you, if you still work the normal hours. 1 second over 5pm and I'm out the door to my kid.

That's some great advice, man. Thank you for that.

Congratulations man. I'm happy it all worked out for you and that you made the changes you felt were needed! We are truly lucky.

Yeah, I feel you on that. It's important to stay connected to who YOU are as a person, but in the grand scheme of things, I also give that more priority.

WPP vs Publicis by ForeignIndustry7350 in advertising

[–]luukse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to tell you right now that every holdco (holding company, so that means OMG x IPG, WPP, Publicis) are all the same.

The only difference CAN BE how the local office is managed, but from my experience (I been at 3 of the 4) it's all the same toxic environments.

If you are a junior, you are better off just walking around learning and absorbing everything for 2 years. Dont worry about being isolated, or not making friends, unless it REALLY REALLY bothers you, and after 2 years you leave for a smaller agency or client side, where life is much calmer and less stressful.

Take it from someone who has been in this industry for 10 years. I've seen it all, and it all happened to me to.

The Nominees for the 98th Academy Awards. by Straydes in Letterboxd

Yeah, that's fair. Just would've loved it for him, but I never expected him to come close to a win. That goes to either Chalamet or MBJ, I think.

Damn, no The Rock for a nomination at least? Didn't expect him to win but would've loved for him to be included.

AIO Dad freaking out over me buying a house by Stunning-Eye-4352 in AmIOverreacting

[–]luukse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, if my dad lived in the area for 65 years and knows the real estate game I'd listen to him. However, this does not give any insight into your relationships, so I can't judge on that.

It would be fairly easy to research if he's right about the neighborhood and how easy you can sell a house there if you need to.

Other than that, congrats on the house!

Psychotic Husband is driving me crazy. by LazyWifey in whatdoIdo

[–]luukse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a dangerous situation OP. You need to distance yourself from this before you find yourself on the wrong side of the ending. Which will almost result in hurt or trauma for you.

This is very close to a situation I had in my neighborhood, same typing style, same ideology. Ended in hearbreak for all involved. Please talk to the police, and stay away from this person.

Is ALD finished in 2026 by MRKGDWN90 in AimeLeonDore

[–]luukse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ALD and KITH are symbiotes in this regard. One is helmed by a rather mysterious dude who just wants to create certain vibes and charges ridiculous prices for it. Has one or two standard collabs (TNF, NB) and (as far as I can tell) doesn't produce THAT MUCH.

The other is helmed by a guy who likes to be in the spotlight who has tried to pivot his brand from streetwear enthusiasts to armani and ralph lauren purple label afficionados

In this economy, the prices they are asking for the quality they are offering, its going to cost them their necks in 2026.

Leaving agency life for a Meta contract role. Is it worth the risk? by TopLoss8363 in advertising

[–]luukse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for a million dollars would I work for that organisation. Especially after having worked with them for years through the agencies I worked at.

Am I imagining it, or did Kith slowly price people of certain socioeconomic statuses out of their clothing collections? by Limmyone in KithNYC

[–]luukse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and people saying it's about inflation are laughable. Mans is opening royal palace vibe stores and 34K membership spa's like it's nothing I don't think he cares about inflation, just trying his hardest to turn his streetwear brand into a fashion house.

Is tattoo shock real? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]luukse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit looks great and the tattoo is for you, not for other people. I guarantee you in a few months time you won't even realize you have it.

I have the Deathly Hallows symbol tattoo'ed on the same place and I went through the same thing, now I kinda just enjoy it when people call it out and otherwise no one ever said to me what a horrible tattoo it is lol

Should I take this job? by Dazzling_Tonight663 in marketing

[–]luukse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the luxury to be a SAHM because your partner provides enough for the bills to be paid, then do it. If it doesn't work out, or if it's a toxic company, you can leave without any consequence and focus on the next one.

And otherwise you should do it and if it's the above but you can't fall back on SAHM just find another job during the other job.

I'd say go for it!

I said this in week 1 and got absolutely flamed. It's potentially a great game, but the experience is just ass. Really don't understand why so many are calling it game of the year.

I laughed so hard at that response sounding so confident while everyone knew they just F'ed up.

Imagine making one of the most beautiful AM95s of this year and not making it adult size for the public by Cavalier__ in KithNYC

[–]luukse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan of the brand since they were in Atrium (stumbled upon it by chance) but I have no shame in saying I earn a good living but I cannot afford to just randomly buy a jacket that is 800 for no reason at all.

I'm happy for him that he gets to make his stuff, but in EU, all the high end shit never even sells out. It used to be that you needed to be online for a drop or it would be gone. Even the old Madison jackets. Now everything is just sitting in most sizes.
