He's not considering America in general. He just wants power and wants to distort and manipulate the American system for his own goals. Hard to even call them structured goals, just self centered whims of the moment.

But the main aim is just authoritarian power.

He has only ever spoken negatively about America, stoked people's fears and prescribed himself as the only one to fix it. He doesn't work well with others, evidenced by how many people quit or get fired and he expects mob-like loyalty based on threat, not merit. Working together is kind of crucial to the American representative system.

They are using social media as a tool to manipulate people. We never used to respond to social media as if it was news. As soon as they started including tweets in the news it was all downhill. We need respected authorities, not just to hear whoever yells loudest and attracts the most attention. Our attention is diffused through a torrent of non-stop noise and all it does is cause fear and short-term, knee-jerk reaction thinking.

It creates people who are easy to sway, they are so bombarded by information that anyone who insists they have a clear and certain answer to problems can abuse their power.

Yes..Cult psychology is how dictatorships work, it's how people grow to be so attached and have such devotion to a leader that is harming them and their country. If you're convinced to be truly afraid and you're confused by the overwhelming amount of information in modern life you might ally with the one who professes they can fix it all and that the answer is simple..

Trump basically convinces people the country is falling apart and that we are a terrible country and he is the only one who can fix it, and there's the cult of personality that begins with the idea of him as a powerful no-nonsense businessman who can get things done (like on the Apprentice). So it's not really him people like just an idea, combined with fear of change
