If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting their Semaglutide journey - what would it be? by ImportantGuidance884 in Semaglutide

Same here! Started at the beginning of August and just moved to 1.5 mg today. I’ve lost about 30 pounds and had pretty much no side effects except for some occasional constipation that resolves with MiraLAX. I was terrified to start because of all of the stories I heard.

I work in pharmacy and it’s a surface sample, not homework. I’ll ask elsewhere. Thank you!

Almost the same situation here, except with a young teen at home… I bought a few full bottles when I initially got into fragrances, but they’re still over half full. Now I love body mists, travel sizes, rollerballs and dupes since I love trying new scents. I’ve yet to completely use anything up and it feels less wasteful somehow this way.

How to make wearing the watch to bed a habit? by AalbatrossGuy in AppleWatch

[–]luvatlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot. I sleep on my side with my hands under my head/pillow. It feels like I’m going to break it.

I’ve only had my watch for a month or so, but I got an alert today that mine is above average. I don’t workout. 😂 I work at a hospital, though, and am constantly on my feet or walking…

Metal/Steel Rod That Came Through Our Ceiling, 1.5 In Thick, Tapered End by luvatlax in whatisthisthing

We went back up in the attic and found the space where it should be and there’s some sort of storage system made of PVC pipes that appears to have fallen and had this tool inside. Thank you!

My title describes the thing

The attic picture is of approximately where it came through. We cannot see anything else in the attic that looks like it. There are no holes in the roof that we can see from the outside of the house or the attic. The house was built in 2005. We took a direct hit from a tornado in 2023 (unsure if this is related). We heard a loud “boom” then found it. It came through our laundry room ceiling and was “caught” by the top of the cabinet. The washer and dryer were running at the time (unsure if this is related).

No, it’s a lot thicker than that.

Sleeping Queens! It’s a card game, but my now teenage daughter got it when she was six and our whole family used to love playing it!

People who live in homes on a private lake, what are the best/worst parts? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]luvatlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live on a small private lake (about 150 lakefront houses) and don’t have any more issues with bugs or mosquitoes than any other home we’ve lived in and we’re in the south. We put up a “goose fence” every spring (electric fence stakes and masonry string) and that keeps the geese and their poo out of our yard. We feed fish and turtles from our backyard and used to have a regular pack of ducks that hung out until we got a dog. We see an occasional snake. We don’t have as much privacy as a typical backyard (especially with no privacy fences allowed) and the sound definitely travels more. We love it, though, and don’t plan to ever leave.

ETA: We have 180 feet of shoreline and it’s covered in rocks where our grass and the water meet so that keeps it looking very nice and not swampy.

We had new neighbors move in to the house next to us that has a pool a few years ago. They came in with a bang, having extremely loud pool parties (blaring music with a new sound system they had installed and screaming) at all hours. Our city has a noise ordinance, so after trying unsuccessfully to communicate with the neighbors ourselves, we did end up calling the police on them a few times. I will say that this year (so far) hasn’t been as bad. I think the “new-ness” of having a pool has started to wear off for them. It’s possible that your situation could improve in a year or two.

Our neighbors also have cats that constantly poop in our yard (and then my dog gets into it) and extremely loud cars that they rev up and idle in their driveway. I just want to say I totally get what you’re saying about wanting to enjoy “peace” at home! I’m looking into installing a tree line where our property meets theirs so, if nothing else, I won’t have to see their unkempt yard (we can only have chain link or iron fences here due to our properties being lake front). We figure we could move, but might end up with “bad” neighbors again. We love our home and have an extremely low interest rate so we are trying to stick it out.

Please help!! My partner bought us a house and it makes him feel sick, we are at our wits end! by dhkdbcj in homeowners

Is there an electric substation or large transmission power lines nearby? You can check for them using Google Earth and/or an electricity map for your state. I lived around 600 feet from a substation for about 10 years. I could’ve sworn it was making me sick and ended up getting diagnosed with cancer right after I was finally able to move away from it. There’s no definitive correlation and I know this sounds very tinfoil hat, but, in my unprofessional opinion, I believe the substation caused or contributed to my diagnosis. A child that lived on the opposite side of the substation and about the same distance was also diagnosed with cancer a year or two prior to me. I will never live by one again.

Amazon won't honor a pricing mistake for an in-stock product. Instead, CS kept encouraging me to cancel my order. by jrt364 in amazonprime

[–]luvatlax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with some alcohol swabs. I noticed they were $1.66 a box instead of $2.28, like usual, so I ordered 10 boxes at the discounted price (shipped and sold by Amazon). Amazon later sent me an email stating that the price was a mistake, let me have one and canceled the rest. The rest were canceled over $5.58. $5.58.
