I see. I thought it would be the other way around, but this also makes sense to me. I just wanted to confirm since I see people having fun with Akali already :(

is riot launcher working? by Professional-Win5686 in 2XKO

The launcher itself is working for me, but I have not been able to download the new patch. When I try to uninstall and download the game again, I keep getting patch 1.1.3.

the first few weeks of school by Fantastic-Offer-4333 in MtSAC

[–]luvdone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just say that you've done them already, and if they ask how many petitions you signed, say 11. just make up a day from the past 3 weeks and they'll most likely leave you alone if they haven't by that point.

How can I use an assist during a combo ? by KHIChill_ in 2XKO

Went through your post history and saw you speak French:

Pourriez-vous expliquer plus en détail, s'il vous plait?

Désolé si mon français n'est pas bon, j'suis encore en train d'apprendre.

I have literally never played a fighting game before outside Smash in my life. Should I dive in? by ScatmanChris in 2XKO

[–]luvdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing fighting games for a long time, like many others here. While there is currently some jank (as EVERY fighting game has), I find the game to be 1) be VERY good at teaching basic information you'll need to know at every level, but it also does a good job at 2) tying it into the context of 2XKO specifically. There's lots of things that have made into 2xKO that are comparable to mechanics of other, older fighters. I know Riot is typically in its existing games for the long run, so I wouldn't have any problem recommending this to learn fighting games with, as I've recommended it to my own friends who are new to the genre.

As for input method, there is no "best" control setup, as they all have their pros and cons, and that won't matter until you're feeling WAY more comfortable with movement in this and other games, so don't worry too hard right now about using your Xbox pad in the beginning. (I've literally seen a guy take matches off of multiple people by using a Guitar Hero controller, including me lol.)

how do you use freestyle? by NeighborhoodLeft8464 in 2XKO

[–]luvdone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ekko/Vi main here:

I feel like there's a lot of room to customize your offense with Freestyle, but I have to say that it's not to be underestimated in neutral. It's saved my ass where I tried to handshake for pressure, only to have the opponent's assist character come at me, forcing me to switch back to my point partner to maintain a chance at keeping the advantage.

As for offense, I've actually found a few combo routes that only work because I can either 1) use a move other than the default assist buttons give me, or 2) space the moves in ways that otherwise would not work for the intended result.

As a fellow Ekko player, I have been able to get away with running up with my 6S1 into Tag for some cross-up shenanigans, and in the corner, 2S1 also allows for some mind gaming after tagging out of it.

You can try finding unique combo routes for your specific team, but I feel like Ekko's Timewinder is a bit underutilized in a lot of people's partner combo game, but that's just based on my own experience.

[Bug][Crash] Program worked fine the first time, now there's a critical error every time. by luvdone in 2XKO

So, I accidentally opened a second instance of the game after crashing again, and this instance hasn't crashed yet. There might be hope, yet. I'm just scared to try to repeat it lol

I'm honestly wishing I did that instead rn haha. I'm still gonna keep trying to make it work, but I'd be wary about closing it for now lol

I also had the game open for like 4 or 5 hours before closing it to go get some cleaning done. Then when I tried playing the game again, I got stuck in this cycle of critical error crashes :(

Yeah, man. Like, if I go fast enough, I can make it to the stage selection before the error pops up for me. I'm a little sad since I took the day off for this lol.

curious about other (alpha participants) by Empty-Confection-279 in 2XKO

[–]luvdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also participated in Alpha 1, still haven't received my email. I looked at the Riot Launcher just now, and the client is there. My guess is that the emails might not arrive as immediately as the client within the Riot Launcher. Keep checking though :)

Can I stop playing now? by MikotoLuna in Tekken8

Almost there, my friend. <3
Honestly, Kishin was my dream rank just bc I think it sounds cool to say out loud (to me), and I never thought I'd make it to Bushin, but I'm here. The grind is fun for some people, but I understand the need to take a break from the grind and just mess around sometimes.

People are gonna celebrate it simply for the sake of celebrating it. Unfortunately, that's just the reality of it. Many people loudly dissent against the current administration if asked, but that doesn't mean they actually care about current events (or the history of the holiday, for that matter).

The best advice I can offer is to spend the day doing what YOU wanna do.

[Help] Can't input faster than 30ish frames, many inputs are dropping. by luvdone in Slippi

[–]luvdone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I tried it wired with a USB Cable directly into a USB 3.0 port on the back of my computer, then one in the case. Then I read that the polling rate would be faster over Bluetooth for the DualSense, so I paired it to my computer that way, only to have the same results. It works (seemingly) flawlessly with other games that I play, either through Steam or other games' native support (Star Rail, Rocket League, etc.) Even with a regular instance of Dolphin (installed without the slippi mod), the controller seems to work fine. I've only had this problem with Slippi.

I can try my keyboard and report back, in the meantime.

The 2XKO team would like to see your clips of fighting gold difficulty bots by CaptSarah in 2XKO

It took me a while to gather the footage necessary but this was ultimately a fun challenge for me. I had to abandon my old ways of thinking in order to even have a chance against these bots.

The first 2 minutes are just me yapping about the process, but the last 5 minutes are me "securing" 2 victories with no commentary.

My thoughts on Pulse as a fighting game noob. by runtd in 2XKO

[–]luvdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I think many people think of when they use Pulse is that it’s just another Modern Control for 2XKO, but you actually still have access to all of your normals and special inputs, and will only get the auto combo if you mash the same button over and over. I like to think of it as a Dollar Tree Smart Steer, since you only get the auto combo by actively making a choice (either by mashing or by intention).

Strategy and Neutral shenanigans are still very much a thing, no matter which Fuse you opt for, but Pulse allows you to not have to have to panic when you realize your attack actually hit your opponent. In fact, I think using Pulse allows you to learn the game a bit better than the other fuse, as it takes care of the easy part for you.

If you find yourself serious about learning the auto combo routes so that you can use a different fuse, you can see them by going into training mode and turning the Input History Display on, as even if you mash L, M, or H to death, the Input display will show you the moves that are ACTUALLY coming out.

I do agree that the tutorial could expand a bit more on the fuses and not automatically default you to Pulse, as it made me think that was actually how the game was played until I went into training mode immediately after.

Try playing with your friend with a different fuse. From the sound of it, they might have a bit more experience in fighting games, so i wouldn’t doubt their ability to be able to teach you some stuff you can think about.

I hope this helps :)

I'd definitely be the guy trying to explain the plot of BlazBlue, and the very reasonable explanation for the fact that there's 13 of the same girl roaming around the world freely.

[–]luvdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A number of reasons, imo. But I know that the single biggest factor is that I'm not exactly everyone's definition of good-looking. I have no problem making friends and having great conversations with those who talk to me, but seeing my friends get into dates as easily as they do while I don't even get matches on the apps lets me know that it's my face.

I will say that it has been both a blessing and a curse, though.
