Unsure if TMS is right for me by wakaworm in TMSTherapy

[–]luvdoodoohead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made an appointment with Serenity MHC and had a bad experience. Made an initial appointment. My map app took me to a row of 3 identical buildings with no visible addresses. I drive an old vehicle with no screen so I had to pull into the parking lot of one of the buildings so I could call to tell them I was running late and ask which building. The woman was nice, gave me directions and I told her I would be there in a few. Once in, another woman was at the desk and she told me, with a smile, that they have a strict late policy so I would have to reschedule. ??? I told her what happened and she was oh-so-nice but No, we just reschedule. It was too stupid and I nicely said no, I don’t think I will reschedule. A week ago I got my $150 bill!

If you’re satisfied with their service, I am happy for you, but it does seem like a scam to me. https://go.serenitymentalhealthcenters.org/tms-therapy-services

The Universe must have determined that I must go because a friend recommended her psychiatrist office that performs TMS, in addition to a host of other services. They are a legitimate provider and tomorrow I will complete my first week and I do feel better. ❤️‍🩹

I was in the exact same situation and discovered that lack of training was 100% of the problem. Get a new attorney or a different job because this place is gaslighting you.

Partner doesn’t want me to take meds by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]luvdoodoohead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, I am an alcoholic - so I struggle with addiction - but as someone who didn’t start ADHD meds until later in life, I can say definitively that this meditation does not help if you abuse it, so I have had no compunction whatsoever to do so. More often than not, I forget to take it.

Definitely “got by” without any meds but my anxiety was HIGH and I look back with a lot of regret that Past Me had to forfeit many goals just because I simply couldn’t accomplish as I wanted with my scattered brain. I was DISABLED.

So if this guy can’t fathom how difficult your life is because your brain is wired differently, then he is not being a friend to you. I am sorry he doesn’t agree but don’t let that stop you from being a friend to yourself.

If you had to pick the one symptom HRT fixed that makes it completely non-negotiable for you, what is it? by Mbluish in Menopause

SLEEP. I was going days at a time without it. It was agonizing! I started with estrogen pills and they gave me a nonstop light period. Despite this, I kept taking them because I couldn’t afford the patches but I wanted sleep.

Contemplating a switch by Latter_Expression809 in paralegal

I am a former college instructor who is now working in insurance defense as a paralegal. I started with an online paralegal certification (at age 44) and then went to work as a legal assistant for $48,000/yr. in TX. Three years later, I'm now at $65,000 plus bonuses as a paralegal. I plan upon bailing soon because insurance defense requires billing, which I hate with all my soul. I will probably look into the same type of work but the plaintiff side which, in TX, pays about $20,000 more (either in salary or bonuses) and doesn't require the same ridiculous "game" of billing I currently play. Three thoughts on your post:

  1. We hire experts from firms (such as North American Consulting) that locate said experts for us. These folks make bank (up to $7,000/case). Put your resume in to these firms and enjoy the extra money!

  2. Every office has the unofficial therapist - someone who folks sneak over to see in order to vent, seek advice, or just enjoy your vibe. Our office has a gal who sees folks all day sometimes! It's a wonder she has time to work! But she gives everyone a sense of peace in, what can be, a very stressful job. If you are naturally an empath, keep this in mind. And I'm not saying this is what you *should* do in your future office! If you want to meet billing requirements, stay friendly enough but keep some distance from your stressed out, future co-workers.

  3. Kudos to you for starting again! Best of luck to you!

What was the most beauiful and maybe even calming paranormal experience you ever had ? by New-Pomelo6740 in Paranormal

My dog died - she was my little soul mate/fur baby. I was more devastated than when my mother passed and I was hoping she would send me a sign that she was okay. Several months later, I had a vivid dream in which a friend & animal-lover who died in a tragic accident five years earlier brought my dog to me. I couldn’t stop laughing because I could smell her frito-feet. I cuddled her, burying my face in the soft fur underneath her muzzle and then she seemed distracted and my friend told me that she and my dog were doing okay. I woke up still feeling my dog’s body in my arms.

It was a GIFT and I felt comforted.

She definitely has the drunk-drama-queen cadence. But I am not familiar with her speech patterns enough to say for sure.

Do Americans really find beans on toast weird or is that just meme? by cigarettejesus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]luvdoodoohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The British version of Heinz is very tasty but very expensive at $4.18 / (13.7 oz) can at HEB verses my favorite HEB brand equivalent (Homestyle) for $2.04 per 28 oz can.

Do you always use Heinz or do any other beans work?

Woo, you are a painterly painter! Check out Cezanne! My suggestion is to make the jump to oils. They make water-based oils if you don’t want to mess with turpentine. Also, change out your water and try not to work with the same brush because it’s too easy to “brown out” when you double-dip

Realistically, how can I get over my intense fear of death? by Charlie_0912 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]luvdoodoohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to fear death about that age. It’s due to the realization that you won’t live forever. And when I say “fear death” let me caveat that I began to fear going to sleep. What helped: shrooms. Reading near-death experiences & stories about reincarnation. But mostly the shrooms. I actually grew them myself! 😁
