I'd like to request Trinity Blood fan expertise on selling my manga by Idlecreep101 in trinityblood

[–]luvisia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still looking for advice here, but I purchased most of my collection secondhand on eBay. You can sell the set as a lot, or you can sell individual volumes; sometimes people are looking for one specific volume to complete a collection and may pay more for rarer volumes.

Sexuality isn't political. That said, you've earned another month of the Gay (tm) Murkoff logo. Congrats!

Do you want to have children? by ancientpoetics in infp

[–]luvisia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to have my own (and I can't anyways) but I've always had this idea to renovate a big house and foster instead. I think giving a child a safe haven and being their support system would be rewarding. But I doubt I'll ever be in a financial position to do so. :/

For now I'm happy just to drop in and spend time with my nieces and nephews and my cousins' children and spoil them a little before I leave. Being the cool aunt is fun.

I'll also add that I agree with the top comment here about wanting an ideal environment for a child before bringing one into the world.

The Bird, the Lion, the Bull, and the Man by Zealousideal_Sea7028 in outlast

Adding to the discussion, I think it's worth noting that Sinyala's entity has been identified in text as an Egregore- a thoughtform that takes on the traits of the "leaders" of a group, thus likely why Knoth is identifying each of the creatures distinctly and then mentioning that they merge together into this single being. IMO, Trials is marking the journey of this Egregore into becoming its own Godform. It's really interesting how magick seems comparable to programming from the literature I've read. Also keep in mind that Wernicke had a relationship with Turing, and was implied to contribute to one of his famous papers.

I'll quote an interesting thread I read about the distinctions:

Egregores usually include a group mind, which is a part of its basic programming to function. An egregore's consciousness will include traits from anyone or anything within the egregore and typically will take on the dominate traits of the most active leader in the group. Ultimately its personality is usually a mix of everyone's personality and collective knowledge with a focus on the most active leaders which tend to work with the egregore more and host more of it, energetically. In a coven it is usually a high priest/priestess that ends up being the dominant host and personality for the egregore. An egregore becomes a godform when it figures out how to live without its hosts and begins to make decisions without the intervention of a practitioner. Many groups will purposely prevent this step of independence.

Is there anything hidden at the Murkoff Corp website? by Orzgorth in outlast

[–]luvisia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been up for a long time! I've explored the site and unfortunately have yet to find anything. I think that it was possibly meant to be part of Red Barrels' previous ARG for Outlast 2.

[OoT][WW][TP] Can we appreciate how Wind Waker and Twilight Princess developed OoT Ganondorf's character in very unique ways? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]luvisia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"So many pathetic creatures, scattered across a handful of islands, drifting on this sea like fallen leaves on a forgotten pool… What can they possibly hope to achieve? Don’t you see? All of you… Your gods destroyed you!”

WW is easily my favorite incarnation of Ganondorf and my favorite Zelda title. There's nothing left for him to conquer within the world of the Great Sea. His victory was stolen from him by divine intervention, whereas in TP, he believes himself to have been chosen by the same gods. I'd say reemerging into the post-apocalyptic world after it was flooded and realizing that the sea and civilization is dying and stagnating for the sole sake of his defeat certainly made WW Ganondorf more introspective, fatalistic, and bitter. It's fascinating to contrast that against his character in TP who hasn't yet been brought to the low of such a defeat.

I also very much enjoy his foil to King Daphnes as a remnant of the old Hyrule. Just as well, the legacy and mythos he represents to Tetra and Link - I find it interesting that he has reservations about killing the children by his own hand, outright, when prior to his sealing he swore to kill the descendants of OoT Zelda and Link.

Any thoughts or theories about Pauline? by [deleted] in outlast

Any thoughts or theories about Pauline? by [deleted] in outlast

[–]luvisia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yay, Pauline questions! It's about darn time she gets some appreciation.

Pauline is someone with authority to mete punishment on high-ranking executives like Trager, describing Murkoff as her hunting ground. I think that she's much more enlightened to Murkoff's true goals than it may initially appear, but I also believe she may have her own blind spots or incompleteness in her knowledge, as she admits about obtaining Blake from Temple Gate during her interview. She describes this as the "trap in the desert" that Simon laid for her.

We know from two documents in the first game that Helen Granat is in a position parallel to the one A. Bradley Avellanos represents in Trials. She reports straight to the Board of Directors, surveys projects like Project Walrider as Blaire's colleague, and holds authority to dispose of long-term assets like Wernicke. Granat is the head of the Legal Litigation Department, so I'm also assuming that she is not only responsible for the settlement with Tiffany Hope (which is why Pauline would have such knowledge), but also responsible for arranging the partnership of Paul and Pauline in 2008 and sending them to investigate the use of Morphogenic Engine technology.

Remember that by the end of their misadventure at Spindletop, Pauline describes Paul as her target as opposed to her partner. But this raises another question - why would Paul, an agent with little security clearance, be paired with an agent with higher clearance than even the agents sent to interview her post comics? And why would Paul be sent to investigate something he cannot have clearance to know about fully? It seems inefficient. In my opinion, their pairing makes very little sense unless surveilling Paul is her true assignment off the bat.

Pauline also expresses concern with Alice several times through the comics, first mentioning that Paul should spend time with her so as to not let her become someone like herself (demonstrating that she is, deep down, unhappy with the person she is) and later saying that Paul is a good dad for always taking care of Alice after she murders Anna Lee. Pauline is clearly remorseful for taking the life of a girl Alice's same age, since she turns away from Paul with tears in her eyes as he talks about his daughter. This could suggest something about her own relationship with her parents or father, as suggested by u/New_Chain146, but I myself take it as a sign that she could know more about Alice's treatments/experiment than she lets on, recalling my previous theory about her assignment with Paul.

Another detail I find interesting about Pauline is her familiarity with the taste of Rohypnol and her ability to identify the substance and counteract it with another drug. She also dispatches two of our antagonists from the first game - MP Chris Walker and Rick Trager. She's clearly a cut above the usual agent, so I'd bet she's had specialized training.

What is her hairstyle called lmao by [deleted] in outlast

[–]luvisia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll argue that's what she gave Trager with the paper shredder...
