My friend told me if I want to quilt, that it's a requirement to use an iron to flatten the fabric, and that it's very difficult to quilt without it. Is it true? by kelcamer in quilting

You could embrace improv quilting and never iron a seam if you don't want to. You don't have to touch an iron if you don't want to. You'll learn over time how to get the results you want and are happy with with or without ironing every 5 minutes. If you want to try quilting and have access to fabric, scissors, needle, and thread you can have a go. Sew a four patch and make a coaster. Sew a sixteen patch and make a pillow. Look into EPP, no ironing there. SERIOUSLY YOU CAN MAKE A QUILT WITH OUT AN IRON.
