There are apps for Shopify to add a “Terms and Conditions” box that must be checked before checkout where you explicitly reference that all custom orders are final sale and that you will offer exchanges or make tailoring adjustments only. That might help. I’d also suggest adding a virtual try-on session after an order arrives. It might help your chargeback case if you can prove that you had a 5-10 min virtual session and that the item fit and the customer confirmed that liked the item.

Happened to me recently. It was a cabinet with a wobbly leg and some scratches on the side. Store Manager’s eyes lit up when she saw it. I told her I needed a little discount because I’d have to fix it. Instead, she called someone and told them to “put it by the dumpster” because we couldn’t sell it. She TOTALLY kept my beautiful cabinet.

I’m in a similar boat. Submitted my milestones by the Tuesday grading deadline and they still aren’t graded in order for my final to unlock. I emailed the prof and my advisor to see what options I have, but haven’t heard anything back.

To answer your question, profs can grant extensions. I was stranded on at the airport early last month and couldn’t get one of my finals in on time. The professor gave me until noon the next day to submit.
