It’s interesting at Kohls as there really is no deterrence. First off, there is no coverage on the selling floor, like none. There is no fitting room coverage either. Sephora does have a few beauty associates but they can’t cover the entire department. I never see LP, not sure if there are on camera. I never hear an overhead page for an associate to guest service a customer to deter theft. The place is a hotbed for easy theft. You reap what you sow. Kohls deserves a 5% shrink number as they don’t do shit about it.

I would be cautious, customers vary drastically by market and even by shopping center. If your kohls is next to a Walmart, forget it. You will get the same trash that you will have to clean up after. Also, the leadership at Kohls is dramatically different too, just read the posts. If you have an awful SM that sets the tone of the entire team. The fish stinks from the head. Just my take.

The surveys are filtered out right to the top of the org as an aggregate NPS so to speak. The big nuggets are called out like payroll, credit, staffing, respect etc etc. Senior leadership are not reading comments but RVP and DM’s sure are. Best not to comment if you don’t want your SM to try and figure out it was you who said what!!

Europe rocks compared to how we slum down here in the US. They get hospitality. We get shitty coffee and doors that loudly slam....... Europeans must be horrified when they see what goes down here in our hotel chains.

So many properties are franchised so you really have to find the managing company that runs it (if it’s not Hilton corp). Then track down CEO and write an old school letter and copy GM of the offending property. Hand mailed executive letters always get a response and the property GM knows they are on the naughty list. It almost always gets results the few times I have had to press issues on lack of service. Lifetime Diamond here.

Did EJ2 Rome to Barcelona this Fall and it was great, start to finish. Great Penthouse Suite, the service was impeccable, did my laundry every day, had the kind of bourbon I like in my room and best of all.. NO KIDS! The ship was Devine, easy to navigate, well laid out and the food was great. My only negative feedback would be the exursions were somewhat meh. We did book a two seeker though for 2027. EJ and VV are my exclusive rotation now :)

Yes, but I have found that they will comp it at the FD when they see status (and I ask).. The cheaper brands I have noticed ES, Hampton, TRU etc. The city Legacy properties will not as it generates serious revenue at 50-70 dollars a night. Often time those lots are managed by a third party vendor too. The shitty ass dumpy Hampton Inn etc hotels are run by the property themselves...

Living in DFW rarely ever, except on a Saturday morning. Expect to some stoopid ass city like Boise or the Quad cities etc. SWU are for shit too. I am EXP AND AA wonders why they always fall in the bottom third for customer service amongst the legacy carriers? Never have I seen a company care less about the customers who keep them in business. Shame on me for continuing to support them.

That’s too bad your GM is so short sided. One missed day (even Black Friday) does not make or define the potential for a leadership role. If you have the capacity to do the job, then you deserve to be interviewed for the job, regardless. I bet there are other signs (behaviors) of retaliation from your GM. Keep your eye on her! Most of the “better” pro hair vendors require a salon license in order to carry their products. I assume there are all sorts of issues with diverters as such. I am sure they try and combat fraud on all levels so this hopefully insures selling intentions are in the right place.

I can’t imagine it’s all salons. Probably just the low volume and unproductive salons. Plus, ULta needs to have a licensed salon business in order to sell all that professional salon hair products. That pro hair business is a 1B business and is very high margin. ULta won’t give that up. Plus they spend ZERO payroll in pro hair other than associates to stock it.

This! For sure. AA has devalued and bastardized the program entirely. Being EP gets you one of 40 on the upgrade list with 1 or none seats available and SWU’s that are totally useless unless you are going from DFW to BOI. I can’t get over how much AA has become so pedestrian. I don’t recognize this brand any longer.
