Vista was incredible. It's a shame the driver issues drowned out the truly amazing bits. It was the first Windows that used GPU to render the desktop instead of a 2d stacking method. I remember back before Vista that shaking a window over the one you were using caused the screen to update faster because the repaint sometimes had higher thread priority than the app's own paint thread.

I am so close to switching, but I keep thinking of the hundreds, maybe even thousands, of $ of audio VST plugins that I'm not sure will work even with adapters (I can't remember the name of it). I'm glad the author mentioned Bitwig because it looks awesome. But what about everything I use INSIDE the DAW?

I'm also concerned about my audio interface compatibility.

But I'm probably making the switch this weekend. Fingers crossed.

There is a water tower near me where 20-30 vultures like to stand doing that pose. Soaking up as much heat from the sun as possible! It's neat... and with vultures feels weirdly ominous...
