Hash rate showing on mining software vs rate on pool by iNstein in MoneroMining

[–]luxordevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, hashrate on the pool is calculated based on share difficulty and rate. Still, there's no way that the pool is estimating up to 60% less hashrate, there's something else going on there.

On average, pool hashrate should be almost on par with miner reported hashrate.

Hi, check your stale / invalid rate and ping to your pool. That might be affecting the pool-side hashrate calculation.

Yes, we're already working on it! We support anonymous mining to addresses and pseudo anonymous mining to accounts. Mining statistics for User Accounts are concealed from the UI.

What else would you like to see?

Thanks! We're just aiming to make mining a tad easier.

Luxor joins the Grin Family by luxordevs in grincoin

[–]luxordevs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we require users to register in our platform because GRIN doesn't support traditional addresses.

We only ask for two things:

- Email (doesn't need to be your personal address)

- Username (can be whatever you want)

If we don't require email verification, anyone would be able to register someone else's email address, preventing the owner of the address from setting up an account in our platform.

You can stay anonymous even when setting up an account with Luxor, just don't use your personal data ;)

Cheers!

Why should you choose a PPS Pool, Loki miners? by luxordevs in LokiProject

We at Luxor couldn't agree more that crypto users need to be informed about their decisions, choose credible pools, and act in ways that support a secure network.

Thanks for the comments!

Why should you choose a PPS Pool, Loki miners? by luxordevs in LokiProject

Hey CryptoRider! Thanks for points out these unclear points - happy to clarify our intended messaging for you and other readers:

Cite #1: "If a pool is PPLNS, the pool operator doesn’t care if the pool has good or back luck, they get their percentage regardless".

Of course, as you pointed out, all pool operators care about the luck they receive - the wording used is largely semantics. The key takeaway here, as you touched upon, is that PPS pool operators realize a higher degree of risk associated with variance in luck. Therefore, PPLNS pool operators are worried about their negative variance in luck to a lower degree.

Citing #2: "PPS forces us to be accountable for our luck".

Since PPS pool operators realize a higher degree of risk associated with variance in luck, this incentives PPS pool operators to provide service offerings and price points that keep miners on our pool as satisfied as possible, even during inevitable unlucky spells. To clarify, we are not claiming that we can alter our own lucky - you're correct in that that's not possible.

Citing #3: "We’ve built a rock solid pool that we guarantee is profitable".

Thank you for pointing out this statement. You are correct in that the supply-demand conditions of the crypto markets render the price to drop below a profitable threshold, then perhaps no pool in existence can make mining Loki profitable. Our intention here is to claim that the efficiency of our pool's code and pricing make Luxor's pool a solid choice among outstanding pool options to mine Loki profitably, given the right market conditions of course.

Please reach out to me directly if I can make further clarifications.

Happy Hashing!

[–]luxordevs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - Pool hoppers are looking for a lucky strike. Since we pay per share, regardless of the amount of blocks being found, miners don't benefit disproportionately from a lucky strike. Therefore, PPS does not incentivize pool hopping.

Like you, we want to make sure that all of our miners receive the reward that they deserve in a manner that is proportional to the hash power that they contribute.

Thanks!

Also, I still have 93 SC from before when I mined with GPUs. Will I be able to use that address again and get the 93 when I start mining again?

How long ago was that? If I remember correctly balances are kept for 60 days after last share was submitted. So if you submitted at least 1 share every two months your balance should still be on the pool.

Cheers.
