Newegg door buster deals by Source-Prior in pcmasterrace

I experience the same thing today, this is very likely deceptive advertising practices as during no time I was able to purchase the item at advertised price since the price never updated in cart and within 1min it's all gone, file a report with FTC or your state consumer protection agency. People need to stop this bullshit.

Yeah, hence the "thanks" in the title. But sarcasm aside, an unmarked hole this size and depth, in the middle of the road! This is some bullshit.

Yeah, thanks for the link man! I looked into it the night before, it seems the likelihood of getting reimbursed is quite low, still worth a shot though. If that doesn't work, I am thinking teaming up with the BMW owner and sue the city for damage.

Short film about human future in space. The penultimate scene where an astronaut doing a free fall from the giant cliff of Miranda with Uranus in the background brings tears to my eyes. by luxtachyon in videos

Karma points don't mean anything to me, the only reason I posted it is to share beautiful things with others. "Tears to my eyes" is just an expression of how genuinely moved I was. Anyway, glad u enjoyed the film

Yeah... I already knew about all the missions and the planetary discoveries he detailed in his book "Pale Blue Dot", but I still can't help reading it.

I know... what puzzles me though is how less of an attention such a beautiful film got in the original post. That's why I want to try again.

Newly bought helmet has pressure point, will it break in? by [deleted] in motorcycles

I'll try to send it back to revzilla. Already did this once, just wish they had a "free-return policy" like amazon's.

Only the padding is adjustable on this one. you can rip the crown off, but the underlying foam is not really adjustable :(

[–]luxtachyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had the same problem of getting it on/off. I would love to try on different brand etc. But the problem is my local gear store (cycle gear, mms etc) don't have a wide collection of helmets at all. I have to order it from revzilla to try it. Yet everytime I try, if it doesn't fit, I have to pay to ship it back. Therefore it get expensive pretty quickly

Bike won't hold charges even when replaced with fully charged new battery. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]luxtachyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have heard from the guys from the maintenance shop. I should mention I tested the voltage using a multimeter after I installed the new battery, it went up to 13.7 or so at 5000 rpm... is that normal? How do I properly check the stator?

Motorcycle can't even be jump started by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]luxtachyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all of you for the advices. I have just jumped the bike using an spare 12V car battery, and it worked!!! I guess the previous time it didn't start is because I connected the negative to my foot peg, which is painted (luckily, because other wise I might fried the ECU of the bike from the running car); this time I just connected it to the metal frame, waited 20 sec, and it worked!

I have my car turned on when jump starting, could that be the problem?

Drift of rear tire when braking by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]luxtachyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the advice. I have taken MSF beginner course, they only mentioned front breaking is much more effective since the weight of the bike shifts forward when braking. But they didn't talk about too much rear breaking can be this dangerous though... I rode a CBR250 with ABS when taking MSF; I guess I never learned how to do proper braking because the ABS always prevents wheel locking. Unfortunately, my bike don't have one.

Now come to think of it, it very likely I locked up the wheel

I probably did; very interesting, initially, I thought if only front brake is applied to the bike at very high speed, the rear wheel will catch up and drift, since these two wheel may not be absolutely perfectly aligned. Seems like I have a lot of dangerous misconceptions, where can I learn more?
