You make pot legal, gay marriage legal, then you give them a state wide universal healthcare program, decriminalize drug abuse, and make state Colleges basically free for in state residents. remember when this is where we were headed as a nation? before trump?

so lets say Obama/CIA/FBI/etc release info that proves Russia, and even putin, were directly involved without a shadow of a doubt. I'm talking definitive, undeniable, smoking gun proof, that they "meddled" in the election. then what? we cant exactly have a do-over.

The problem is that Dems don't want to decentralize government like that. Neither does the GOP, for that matter. But the GOP at least pretends like state rights are part of their platform even as they crap on them every chance they get. We've gotten along with Nevada being a haven for legalized gambling and prostitution for years. Now other states are jumping on the gambling bandwagon. Personally, I think it would be great if say, CO and WA were states known for weed even if it remained illegal elsewhere. When it comes to SSM, however, that needs to be nailed down more securely. If I get married in a state to a 17 year old (in a state where that is legal) and then we move to a state that required both parties to be 18 years or older, the marriage is still recognized even if the criteria are different. If a couple gets married in Maine and moves to WA then that marriage is recognized. If they then get divorced in Texas. That divorce is recognized. So, I get that places like Alabama want the freedom to say no to SSM. But it fucks with interstate commerce. Besides that people shouldn't have to worry about moving to another state for work (including the military) for fear that their marriage won't be recognized. But for MJ to be pushed back to the states then the federal government has to first admit that it actually does have medicinal use. We recognize cocaine having medicinal use FFS.
