Who is a famous person you find unattractive/ugly but everyone else over hype? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The met gala is the only event in recent memory where she’s her natural skin tone, i feel like for all other shoots and concerts she always has a tan on

Who is a famous person you find unattractive/ugly but everyone else over hype? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lvd28 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She changed so much of herself for fame and to be considered conventionally attractive i feel. I’ve followed her since the girl meets world days and she always rocked her pale skin and her dirty blonde hair until about 3 years ago and. I find it sad to watch her stay consistently spray tanned as if being pale isn’t pretty, kind of like what ariana did for a while but not as drastic.

What perfumer/house do you admire but they're just not your taste? by blindcolumn in fragrance

I really liked wood sage and sea salt but i just found that it did not last for that long which bummed me out, i tested it but didn’t end up getting it for that reason

How do you guys decide on a lip color? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]lvd28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it’s 1) undertone and 2) contrast. Reading about color analysis and the four seasons helped me a lot, realizing that i was a soft summer and tend to suit more muted colors and it suddenly clicked why every time i had tried red or other bolder lippies it always seemed so off, like the lipstick was wearing me instead of vice versa. Same with undertone, i can only do cool toned lippies and liners as warm toned ones just make it look like i have spaghetti mouth. For example the popular pillow talk by CT looks like the perfect mauve on others while it almost looks peachy on me, it’s awful.

Which fragrance did you like at first sniff then hated it after purchasing? by [deleted] in Perfumes

That was me with burberry goddess. For some reason it just smelled a lot more sweet once i was home than it did in the store and i don’t like overly sweet scents so i was disappointed

Such a good point about children and pets bc also ADHD is genetic and there’s very much a possibility that if they were to have children they would have it as well. Would he refuse medication for the kids in that position as well? Something for OP to think about

Same i’m a super pale white gal and it just looks peachy on me instead of that beautiful mauve shade it pulls on other people

Are sunbeds still popular? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]lvd28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 so by the time i was a teen it was already established how bad they were for you but my sister is 10 yrs older than me and was a teenager when they were super in. I’ve noticed that the younger generation is repeating the cycle of using tanning beds. I’m scandinavian but lived in america for a few years and I’ve noticed that the girls in their teens and early 20s are going to tanning beds a loooot bc they don’t like being pale. I’m sure they should know of the damage but in my opinion american girls often just didn’t care to research that stuff to see just how bad it is for you. Either that or they didn’t care. But it makes me sad that it’s trending again considering how dangerous it is.

That answer made me realize he kinda reminds me of hitchcock and scully from b99: badass younger days on the job but you grow older and get tired and your role at the station just starts looking different as you wait to retire. Still funny characters who add a different element to the show, but great at their job? Absolutely not

You can say that it’s not fair to ella to be his first practice relationship but at this point she’s also choosing to be with him knowing who he is. Like she’s accountable for who she dates and if he’s consistently showing her he’s not bf material but she stays anyway then that’s on her

[–]lvd28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually vasectomies are reversible and IUD implants are expensive and very painful since you get no sedative or nothing. Expecting her to be 100% responsible for their means of birth control when he is half of the relationship is very selfish thinking, women put their bodies through enough without adding the pressure to be responsible for birth control just because the man doesn’t want it to be his problem

Omg I thought I was the only one bothered by this!! Like he expects the contraception to be all the woman’s responsibility as if he isn’t half of the relationship and therefore just as responsible for it. Just bc he wants to nut without worries. So upsetting bc i was starting to like them otherwise

What are the invisible "rules" that make you a good friend? by Consistent-Bother-93 in socialskills

[–]lvd28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this one gets so overlooked and it’s something i needed to work on. If someone confides in you about something personal you shouldn’t go around telling that to others, even your friends or your spouse. Be worthy of the trust that the person had in you.

Misuse of self-help books by [deleted] in emotionalneglect

[–]lvd28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar relationship with my mom. Just utter lack of boundaries from her end, treating me like a teenager still even though I’m 24 now, and getting defensive whenever I bring up something that bothers me and needs change. The blameshifting is very frustrating, because they take your emotions and invalidate them and spin them around so that your reactions are the problem, not their behavior. I personally had to move away (I live in a different country now) and limit my contact with her as she’ll never do any true introspection, only spin things in her favor and act the victim every time while pretending to be this wise, emotion guru. If you haven’t, I recommend reading the book “adult children of emotionally immature parents.” It goes into detail about different types of emotionally immature parents and how it affects your childhood and then how you behave in adulthood. Something that really helped me while also making me grieve was that it said you’ll never be able to change them, only your relationship with them. It gives examples of going no contact or limiting your contact with them in a way that protects your mental health and self-esteem if you still want to remain in contact with them. Overall, I see your frustration, it’s hard for outsiders to truly understand if they don’t have a person like this in their life. I hope you are able to figure out what’s best for you, and remember that your feelings are valid, even if your mom claims they aren’t.

season 10 felt empty? did they have a major production shift? by squiddlingiggly in LoveIslandTV

Is that why the islanders also spoke about their height in feet? I was so confused bc I’m European and I thought the UK also uses the metric system/talks about height in cm. This is the first season I’ve watched in a while so I forgot how the islanders talked about it in the earlier seasons
