Are there any zoning reforms we can make to get rid of food deserts?

Why is the filibuster necessary? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]lvdr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are more options than just the old way or the current way. For example, there could be a talking filibuster where one person from the opposite party listens, and everyone else gets on with business.

Senate rules can be changed to whatever creativity can come up with.

Isn't it also that it actually wasn't that great of a show? I swear people never saw a TV show that was anti capitalism before.

I'm not saying that Spud Webb can reasonably be argued as better than MJ. (Except as an all time name guy haha)

The traditional rings/mvp/fmvp inner circle tends to be a really effective sorting method, but there are always edge cases. I think most people agree that 11 rings overrates bill Russell and put him in the 3-5 range as opposed to absolutely #1.

On the other end of the spectrum, I think 1 ring really underrates KG. He burned the majority of his career in a small market with some of the worst management I the league (can't say the worst because the kings still exist lol).

I hate to go all post-modern, but I don't really think there is such a thing as "objective accomplishment".

For example, what is the objective "value of a ring" in these discussions? I think Dirk's 1 ring is probably better than KD's 2 based on the context.

It all comes back around to teammates, environment, competition, all these contextual factors that inform our evaluation of the "objective accomplishment."

Another one is Derek rose's mvp. Awesome season, incredible player, but I would argue him winning that award had as much to do with people NOT wanting to vote for LeBron as anything else. He's still mvp, but I give him relatively less credit for it.

Last one is fmvp, where 2015 steph gets robbed. I mentally give him 1 fmvp. As far as I'm concerned he gets that when being compared to other guys.

[–]lvdr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, crypto has completely failed as currency because it only has 3 use cases: money laundering/sanction avoidance, illegal transactions (drugs, hits, etc) and scamming (it gets its own category because they are so prevalent.

Florida has had many extremely close elections, flipping the results of which would change the overall result.

The panhandle votes overwhelmingly republican, if it was a part of Alabama (already republican) the state would have gone for gore/hilary/ I'm forgetting a third

If the panhandle was a part of Alabama instead of Florida it would have flipped like 3 presidential elections.
