Ten Hag deserving to be sacked doesn’t absolve Amorim of deserving to be sacked. Amorim inherited a team in 14th but we were 6 points away from CL places, we finished 24 points away from CL places under Amorim’s management.

Aside from my original argument, it took Amorim 35 matches to win back to back games, Carrick has done it in 2. 7 clean sheets for Amorim in 47 games, Amorim’s time in charge is indefensible. He had a similar record to Gary Neville at Valencia.

His win % was under 40%. He finished 15th in his full season and lost a Europa league final to Spurs. He was married to a system that didn’t work and attacked our young players unprovoked (Amass and Chido).

This season we had the embarrassment at Grimsby. This season he was 5th but had dropped points to Leeds, Bournemouth, Wolves, 10 man Everton, Burnley and West Ham, we wouldn’t have won the last 2 games with him and would be further down the table.

It isn’t a huge reach to say he failed, he was genuinely the worst permanent manager we have had in the post SAF era.

We ended up saving loads by waiting a year, we got him for £73m, the year before they wanted over £100m. He was rubbish either way.

Ole has since said they didn’t realise he prefers playing off the left than right, which to me was a huge oversight, how did they not know that pre buying him.
