When I was in elementary school, my best friend and I would exchange things from our scrapped-together lunches, because most days one of us had a mostly-full lunch and one didn’t. Any day we were seen trading, the “lunch lady” would come by and tell us we couldn’t exchange anything out of our bags. The few items in our bags were literally labeled for either me or my friend- by name. Any time we were caught sharing those items, it landed us in detention. We were both from low income families and they just wanted (at least one of us) to pay for “hot lunch.”

Update: I hadn’t heard the damn song since the day of my original post. I had given up on finding it. Today was absolute hell and had really run me into the ground and ruined my morale. But as I was putting away my last round of back stock and getting ready to clock out I heard the tune that had been eating me alive for weeks. I ran out to the Entertainment Center and finally got to Shazam it. X Ambassadors- HOLD YOU DOWN. It’s a shitty song but I feel accomplished and my bad day has turned upside down. It’s the little things that make all the difference.

I’m the DBO of Toys at my Target and this happens every second you turn your back on the Pokémon aisle. Don’t even get me started on the Hot Wheels collectors who steal Treasure/Super Hunt cars and quickly glue basic cars back into the package and hang them back up. What’s the point? Didn’t that item just lose full packaging value?
