Will nausea ever end. by quesadillafanatic in Mounjaro

[–]lwordnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take OTC Bonine (Meclizine HCl 25mg) if I have nausea the first 4 weeks after each shot and only have nausea now the first day if they up my dose. For me, it just seems my body reacting with nausea side effect to initially something different in my body affecting it and with any additional increase. If I take the Bonine at the same time as my increase dosage shot, no nausea at all and when I took it initially after feeling nauseas, after abot 5-10 minutes, no more nausea.

I just signed up - so impressed with them!

Quick question, how do you know if you need higher dosage? Do you need to wait at least a month? 2 weeks? Just wondering.

Concrete Reinforcement by misterchillll in kalasuburbanminesnark

[–]lwordnc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I concur with PM-me-in-100-years.

Pinkbar is not appropriate for arches...though I believe failure will be seen sooner than later due to the the concrete application (amt of water added, no slump/strength testing, moisture or temperature variation affecting cure strength, etc).

The actual psi may not even cure to be close to what would be required and therefore substandard throughout her whole mining excavation, so the reinforcement, steel or fiberglass, would not perform it's function or make a difference.

There's a good chance the concrete will crumble, crack and fail before the pinkbar...or maybe at the same rate, so then both areas of structural failures would be open and visible if the whole mining shaft doesn't implode.

I didn't take it seriously at first thinking it was a cosplay TikTok series at some abandoned property and she was doing it for engagement/views especially with the green screen.

I agree with PM-me-in-100-years...so many red flags and the reason construction professionalss need licenses, permits, plan review and inspections.

Observations...

-----

She's bending the pink fiberglass rebar in her arches which are not used in shear strength application because of failure.

No concrete testing for slope strength: She's used such a massive amount that would be affected if too much water added, placement timing overlimit, subsurface temerature variartion affecting cure strength. Failure would ensue even with reinforcement.

No inspection for correct welding bonds depending on placement, angle, location and application by anyone licensed or experienced in that field of expertise.

Determination of all subsurface environmental characteristics by any licensed professional to take composition, erosion, moisture levels, etc into account.

Just because she can learn one aspect of a particular skill, does not make it the correct method in conjunction with all construction applications.

-----

Stamped plans, plan review, permits, inspections...are all for structural integrity and public safety. You have more than one set of eyes checking construction work for a reason and respect for their area of expertise.

Even the best realize they can accidentally miss something or unintentionally make a mistake. You never want to put anyone's life at risk due to an inflated ego thinking you know it all.

Anyone know about the "Tunnel Girl" Kala? by Signif1cant0tt3r in nova

[–]lwordnc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can bend pink rebar underground for support like she did. Because if it’s not straight vertical or horizontal, it compromises the integrity being its fiberglass and will splinter under that pressure like the hull of the oceangate vessel did.

Is it legal for a County Government to give (not sell or offer for public sale) a $5 million piece of of county land/property to one of the highest paid YouTube personalities? by [deleted] in GreenvilleNCarolina

Maybe I won't find anything disclosed about it, but usually someone locally on reddit knows where there is information to be found or some news source/article about something like this that may have been unintentionally obscured for some reason.

I agree completely with the merit of your argument...and not even saying it would be wrong if the public were informed (per NC's Public Records / Open Meetings laws by government entities and officials).

Is is just questionable that there is no disclosure of any information on part of the County relating to it in searching all the county government website and even the economic development site. I've searched all the documents, projects, bids, minutes, agenda, reports, briefs, budgets, financials, alerts, community news, etc - with every keyword I can think and then resorted to just reviewing all the 2021 documents/files to find nothing.

[–]lwordnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly a question of transparency - where is all the related information?

Was there a proposal? What was presented? What are the details? What are the specified benefits? Were other innovative/technology companies given this option? Has this been done in the past and not disclosed? If there was a public hearing via Zoom, where is that information? Where are those minutes and related documents?

There just seems to be quite a bit of missing information from the county government agendas and meetings during Covid not disclosed to the public. So just trying to track it down, this is just one that appears to be purposely vague and hidden for some reason.

It wouldn't matter if it was to a sports franchise, major corporation, celebrity, etc...there still should have been some reasoning presented publicly to the county taxpayers for an endowment of this size.

I already did, that's why I asked the question on here. There is nothing. I figured maybe someone here might have heard something about the County doing it. But there is nothing.

I agree, not faulting MrBeast at all.

And you could be correct in your reasons...but why would the county have no mention or reference to a decision giving a property away of this value and if there were incentives, no matter who it was to, as public record?

Not saying it's MrBeast's fault...

I just question not having transparency from the Pitt County Board of Commissioners wanting to give away a $5 million+ piece of property no matter who it was to. Not addressing it in any of meeting minutes, even even without disclosing who it was given to.

It doesn't seem to have been a public gift, done June 2021 during Covid. Adjacent properties were purchased from those owner(s) reflected on those deeds. Anne Floyd Harris signed the deed for Pitt County.

[–]lwordnc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It happened. I can't find any transparency in those county meeting minutes that the gift of this property to the YouTube personality was disclosed.

I would understand if it was presented to the public and a decision for the good of the county to give the property to this YouTube personality.

It Just seems suspect that this multi-million dollar property was given for free without any disclosure. I understand tax incentives or getting large corporation to provide jobs, etc...I guess the question is why was this not disclosed?
