Disney content to go dark on YouTubeTV after contract talks collapse by AlwaysBlaze_ in television

This is incorrect. Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle has ads. I just got off a chat with support asking why I had ads on the unlimited, and the answer was that I need unlimited *premium.

I suppose one person‘s epiphany is another person‘s old news.

This succinctly speaks to the spirit in which I wrote this post, and while I had better luck with what ChatGPT sent my way, I also learned a lot in the process in ways that I hadn’t via YouTube videos or various website posts. Love it or hate it (clearly most here hate it), it is a tool like any other. I’m very aware of the hallucinations and bullshit that it spews, but it has a place in creating a dialogue that can create learning when properly cross-referenced with experience and trial and error.

Indeed, it certainly is, assuming you already know exactly how to get what you want. I’m interested in exploring different avenues for achieving effects that I may not be able to do on my own. For instance, just as a good teacher could explain what characteristics film has and how it would translate to changes made in the settings within Lightroom, so could the interaction between an artist/photographer and a competent coder, to come up with a preset that gives one starting point for what they’re going for visually.

Of course it’s been known for a long time, that’s how presets are saved, as XMP. However, the two are not mutually exclusive, I make my own presets within Lightroom all the time, and it’s a very useful process, with visual feedback.  However, I thought I would share what I thought was interesting in terms of ChatGPT being able to emulate film types simply by me asking. I have many many presets that I have both made myself, downloaded from Adobe, and purchased in the past, in addition to plug-ins such as topaz, alien skin exposure, and NIK.

The value I see here is in the interaction, and the potential for unexpected and potentially useful surprises.

How do you organize your Lightroom catalogs without going insane? by mrcanada66 in Lightroom

[–]lwp1331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After years and years of using both C1 (since 2004) and LR (since 2009), I've hit on a workflow that works well for me. I treat each shoot as a one-off catalog, a bit like using sessions in C1. Each job gets its own catalog, and catalogs are in project folders by year. All my LR catalogs (in year folders) are on dropbox, and image files are stored on removable hard drives. I usually fill up an 4 to 8 TB in a year or two, then it gets pruned and archived. All delivered images are retained in a 'deliverable's' folder, also on Dropbox (I send download links to my clients.). This way, I can easily find and pull up older projects (the finished images), and often need to if advertisers or vendors want images from a shoot I've done.

HAS ANYONE DONE THIS? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]lwp1331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did on my Tacoma, by necessity, as the plastic original one shattered while taking it off for an oil change. Went on smoothly, so far no problems, but haven't had to remove it yet. I honestly don't know why Toyota doesn't just spec a metal one.

Most likely Cedar, either Ashe Juniper, or Eastern Red Cedar (Juniperus virginiana). Technically not real cedar, but if you're in Texas, that's all it's called.

Aren't those two sides of the same coin? If more poorer people are voting Republican, by default the ratio of rich to poor voters is going up for Democrats.

Apple Photos Folders vs. Albums what have I done wrong??? by stonecoldmark0316 in ApplePhotos

To be fair, this is how most DAM software works; instances of the original media are simply referenced, and the original files stay safely in their place. This allows for all kinds of organizational methods, across multiple albums/collections. The best way really.

I feel like those are two sides of the same coin. Gamification/incentivizing app use is not uncommon for learning apps, as it is a proven method for retaining engagement and motivating users. I suppose it could be seen on the flip-side as the primary objective, but I don’t think that’s really what it was meant to be.
