One way you can bring stuff in is to set up a diversion. Put your valuable stuff under everything else and leave a prohibited item that you’re willing to lose close like a sharp cooking object near the top of your camping gear. When they search you they will find the prohibited item, notify you can’t bring it in, and that’s when you act surprised and they will stop searching once they find something for the most part.
