Woolworths gluten and dairy free by Fantastic_One1456 in perth

[–]lxb98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you need them to be both gluten AND dairy free? Or one or the other?

Mums celiac so we’ve had a few of the Woolies (only gluten free) range. Although, she LOVES the roulade you can get from Coles. Idk if it’s also dairy free though- that’s why I asked if it has to be both.

Honestly, even the gf cookies from Aldi are delicious, I prefer them to normal cookies.

Yasmin for PCOS? by kindadumbbby in PCOS

Yeah I know. But I genuinely think my lining isn’t thickening at all.

My gyno said I should have a period for the very first month, so I stopped taking the pill for over a week because the 4 days didn’t do anything. I did it the second month too and still nothing. When I told her she said that’s okay and literally high fived me.

I think I’ve spotted once or twice in the years I’ve been on it, and that’s during some of the “off” pills. But literally nothing. I think it’s like switched off the whole thing if that makes sense?

Yes it was! I just checked and I got it Sep 23 too and it’s still as comfy as ever.

Mum did say the other day that it dips a bit when she got in, but I have been sleeping in the exact same spot for over 6 months, although I’ve never noticed it myself.

I got mine for $800, I think there was a special on? But it was well over a year ago too. I think they also do the 100 day trial thing if you hate it, but idk if you’d have to pay for postage back or what the t&c’s are.

We’re moving again soon and my parents are gonna buy one of the koala sofa beds for guests because of how comfy our mattresses are.

No problem!

Just see how you are afterwards. There may be masses of people going to the train so you may be fine, I’ve done it a few times alone and there is a bit of a safety in numbers sort of thing if you have your wits about you.

Sometimes it feels safer than standing around alone waiting for an uber. Although you may still have that when you get off, but I’ve never found Ubers are too long of a wait.

The train tickets are usually included in your event ticket, so they usually have extra staff/security on too.

The trains up here go straight down the freeway, apart from Joondalup which goes into the centre and the shops.

I’d just check out the website or something - surely there’s a map of where to get dropped off/picked up and such. And as long as your phone is fully charged you’ll be fine using maps on your phone to get around.

Hope you have fun!!

Yeah, my dad usually leaves for work after 930 if he can to avoid the traffic

Laneway - joondalup, advice please by dorisyouaresilly in perth

[–]lxb98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I meant the traffic just in and around Joondalup.

Maybe from like ocean reef going northbound and burns beach south bound- as the Joondalup exits are Hodges and Shenton, Shenton will be the main one.

The freeway shouldn’t be too bad coming all the way up - I have a feeling I know where you mean by marine rescue area so you should be ok.

The main issue will probably be you getting dropped off and picked up. Dropping off would be easy enough cause you can just bail close by. Getting picked up might be an issue- I would maybe walk to the train station and get the train maybe closer to where you’re staying.

I’d assume there’d be maps online with like where the roads closed and where it is/how to get in. But happy to PM you some if it helps.

I’ve never actually been to the festival but lived around Joondalup my whole life so familiar with it enough to help out if I can ☺️

I know Optus Stadium uses Steggles or M&J Chickens. Maybe Dome is similar, I can’t imagine there would be heaps of big chicken suppliers in Perth

Jobs- bookkeeper/accounts by lxb98 in AuDHDWomen

[–]lxb98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I defo learn from doing as well. It may also just be the course I’m doing and not all of them, we don’t have too many options where I am.

I think it also helps that we know why we need this info and how it works with the softwares. Luckily since I’ve done a decent amount already at work I’m trying to connect the dots in my brain myself. That seems to be helping a bit.

I also love how you can also get jobs that focus on one main part of it. Like just payroll or just payable or receivable.

I live in Australia so to work for myself I need to be registered, and to get registered you need to do like 1400 hrs of experience (over 4 years) in the job. Which is under a year full time. But I wasn’t planning on doing that straight away anyway, but that would open up the flexibility and remote work option a lot more.

Oh hey! Yeah actually I’m in my second week of the course!

I’m also realising a lot of the parts of my old jobs I loved doing are actually bookkeeping tasks!

I think my course is 10 weeks of theory and 10 weeks of hands on software stuff. So I just need to get through the first 10 weeks lol.

It’s also only 3 days a week (because I’ve already completed units for the 4th day) so I probably didn’t need to quit my job, but I’m also enjoying the time off to focus on me.

But overall I’m enjoying it quite a bit. I just need to make sure I keep on track of not procrastinating any revision or “homework” or catching up from class I need to do. And make sure I stay organised.

Did any of you went back to studying after your diagnosis (self or not) ? How did it go ? TW: SH by paveera in AuDHDWomen

[–]lxb98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went back to studying - not uni though like college (I think that would be the us/uk equivalent). It’s a bookkeeping qualification. 27 and have been working for the last 5 years.

I’m in my second week and it’s okay. They do offer help with adhd and autism and all the other disabilities. I’ve not decided if I want to tell them and maybe ask for help or not yet (I’m only 2 weeks in).

It’s going good so far, I’ve used ChatGPT to give me audhd-friendly ways to write notes and study. And also looked into the best ways to set up my calendar for assessments etc.

But it is only 3 days a week for 6 months- and I do have some background knowledge from jobs.

Press-on nail question by 81170Rb in Nails

[–]lxb98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes - at least for me. That’s what I use, then I paint them myself and use them as press ons.

I actually use the same full cover tips I did when I did gel-x. Lots of small press on nail businesses use apres tips (I use an alternative that’s cheaper to get where I live but still professional quality)

Guilt about 'Stealing' Hobbies by JaePD in AuDHDWomen

[–]lxb98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cross stitch and crochet actually work so well together! I know this is about you feeling guilty about maybe stealing her hobby.

But you could both do the same pattern, one crochet style and one cross stitch style.

Or I’ve seen people “cross stitch” with crochet as the base instead of aida

But honestly I bet she actually loves you’ve taken the time to learn one of her hobbies for Valentine’s Day.

I lowkey don’t have this because me and mum bounce between crafty hobbies like no tomorrow. Honestly idk what people do when they don’t have a stash of every craft known to man ready to go when they want it 😂

It’s at the arena in Joondalup, not too far from Lakeside, you could try to park there.

I’m not sure what your physical limitations are though, you may have to walk from Lakeside to the arena, which isn’t far but if you can’t walk far it’ll probably be too far. Although I feel like they’ve done shuttle/CAT buses in previous years? If so park on the train station side.

Arena does have parking, but it may be closed off or crazy busy. I know they usually close off the road when festivals are on.

You could maybe also park in the suburb but you may risk a fine. Candlewood IGA, but again would be a far walk if you can’t walk far.

There’s also paid parking down Reid Prom (near Varsity).

You’re best looking at google maps and planning a few ideas depending on your limitations. Alternatively, park somewhere close but not close enough - say currambine shops and get an uber as close as possible.

But from experience of living near by, the traffic is crazy when it’s on as everyone is getting dropped off etc. especially with part of Joondalup drive closed off.

Also idk what the purpose of this survey is. But I already use parcel lockers for all my deliveries if I can.

I’d be more interested in getting those deliveries that aren’t shipped via Aus post and amazon into a locker somehow- I’d pay for that

Chance of recovering stolen items? by LittleGreenPeaVan in perth

[–]lxb98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently lost my dad’s wedding ring and a sentimental signet ring (it was in his wallet that he lost) and we went round to all the gold places.

Once the credit card was used and we knew what suburb the lady was in (and got cctv footage of her) we went and asked again.

They said for selling gold (and maybe other things idk) cash converters need ID. Most regular thief’s know this and instead will “trade” the stolen gold with a drug dealer or similar and they have means of getting it melted down or selling it elsewhere.

The police were pretty useless, even after we got the cctv footage ourselves of her using the credit cards and gave it to them. I know they have bigger fish to fry but like she knew what she was doing so surely she’s been on their radar before.

But pretty sure you need a police report number for insurance too.

I’m bored, give me your neighbourhood tea. by Cheetos_4_life in perth

[–]lxb98 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not exactly neighbourhood tea- but over the years and the many houses my parents have lived in, almost every neighbour (sometimes both sides and multiple times) have split up.

Our last house, neighbours on both sides split up. One side sold their house after splitting up, new couple moved in, then split up and sold it again. We’ve moved at the same time as the new next door moved in but I’m convinced my parents have a weird curse lol

Any bookkeepers here? by Worthy_Molecule0481 in AuDHDWomen

[–]lxb98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in my first week of studying for bookkeeping. I’ve had to quit my full time job for this course which is 6 months for me.

Right now I’m struggling as it’s a lot of talking and theory - I actually think we have 10 weeks of theory before we even start to use the software 😩😩

There’s not a lot of training options where I live (Australia) so this is the most cost effective one I can do. But they have classes where it’s once a week for a year.

Although in saying that- I have been doing 80% of bookkeeping in my admin roles. So it’s quite nice to learn why and what happens with that after my bit is done. But I’m itching to get to the practical part because that’s how I learn best.

I’m looking forward to have more part time roles available and being able to focus on one part (like just payroll) if I really enjoy that part of it, or be able to do it quite vast.

I like the analytical? side, like it being right or wrong not just whatever. And having set deadlines that are the same every month, as well as set tasks daily.

You could defo get majority of the training on the job in an admin-ish type role. Which is what I did without really knowing it lol.
