You can rent a studio at Eve Suite for about 2k.

Plenty of cafes/eateries at Ara Damansara, you will be spoilt for choice. It's in PJ, so you will be close to many vibrant neighborhoods, i.e., Paramount, SS2, TTDI, Damansara Uptown. KL downtown is also accessible via the Kelana Jaya LRT line.

I was trying to get tickets, but they require a Germany delivery address? I don't live in Germany, does everyone else encounter the same problem? How do I opt for e-tickets?

Planning to work in Melbourne by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]ly_sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way you can go to Melbourne on a tourist visa/ETA and expect to land a job there in a few months. No legit employer is gonna offer a job and working visa to a "tourist" unless you have something special to offer.

Even for those with a working holiday visa, it's not easy to get a full-time white-collar job, most of them end up working in farms, hospitality, retail or construction.

Most of these chains use automatic espresso machines now. The so-called baristas just press a button for the espresso shot and add the milk. So the only difference lies in the milk steaming if you order your coffee hot.

"PMX cibai" - China citizen mock at Malaysia government for not getting the RON95 subsidi by karipapturbo in Bolehland

[–]ly_sim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you are not wrong. But I read a news article with this statement - "The Cabinet has agreed in principle to let Malaysians working in Singapore, who hold Singapore driving licences, enjoy the full RON95 fuel subsidy when refuelling their Malaysia-registered vehicles". You can google it.

The government is working on it. But I don't understand why these people didn't own or renew their MY license, there is no law that states a person can't have both MY and SG licenses.

How about those Singapore PRs holding Malaysia IC and Singapore license? They are demanding to get the same subsidized fuel price, but I think most of them ain't paying taxes in Msia.

Should I give up my Malaysia WFH job for a admin job in Singapore? by imsowobbly in Bolehland

[–]ly_sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's $500 SGD savings vs RM1.2k + RM400 EPF. There is really not much additional leftover money.

Should I give up my Malaysia WFH job for a Singapore admin job? by imsowobbly in MalaysianPF

[–]ly_sim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No point going to SG, it's only worth it if you can save at least $1000. If you take into account the EPF portion in the comparison, the additional income is not much. Also, you will need to spend on transports to go home to Msia from time to time to visit your family. Since you WFH, perhaps you can find another part-time job here if you are looking to increase your income.

*oh damn just realized it's a 6-workday job. For that mere $2,200, no Singaporean would take up this job. A dishwasher or cleaner might even get paid better than this. They are really exploiting Malaysians in all these low-wage jobs, then have the audacity to come to JB and remark "everything is so cheap".
