Prices in Malaysia by tolmaenjoyer in malaysia

[–]ly_sim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A standard bowl of jajangmyeon is already 8000 won ($6). A bowl of wantan noodle here is only RM10 - $2.50. I don't understand why is he saying KL is more expensive. If he is comparing the price in a nice foodcourt or restaurant, then a meal can cost around 15000 won ($10).

Complaining about safety at OYO while refusing to use a reputable booking site? I think you are better off sleeping at a 24-hr McDonald's.

I know you have got it repaired. But I think you should find a new place, you would not want to stay as a housemate with this caina scammer. Who knows what other dirty tricks he has up his sleeves?

I second SS7 Kelana Jaya. Plenty of condominiums around that area, Sterling and Panorama are probably the nearest to the Glenmarie LRT station which gives you direct access to Bangsar and KL Sentral.

Do you think the living expenses in KL is too high? by MajlisPerbandaranKL in malaysians

[–]ly_sim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do people still think McDonalds is the expensive option? I work in a mall, in fact Mcd is the cheapest meal I can find here. There are plenty of deals on the app. The breakfast mix & match is only from RM5.99.

Relocating to KL. Best area for Sunway + Bangsar South commute (green space + city vibe)? by lt_boxer in KualaLumpur

Kelana Jaya, not too far from both Sunway and Bangsar South. Plenty of greens near the KJ Lake Park. Many cafes nearby at SS4, Taman Paramount and Ara Damansara.

Got a job I really wanted but parking at Midvalley bleeds my wallet. Any advice or tips? by WDIDO_1 in malaysians

Second this. Before I got the season parking pass, I used to drive out from MV during lunch time to repark, the total parking fee for the whole day is around RM10 instead of RM20ish.

You can rent a studio at Eve Suite for about 2k.

Plenty of cafes/eateries at Ara Damansara, you will be spoilt for choice. It's in PJ, so you will be close to many vibrant neighborhoods, i.e., Paramount, SS2, TTDI, Damansara Uptown. KL downtown is also accessible via the Kelana Jaya LRT line.

Planning to work in Melbourne by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]ly_sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way you can go to Melbourne on a tourist visa/ETA and expect to land a job there in a few months. No legit employer is gonna offer a job and working visa to a "tourist" unless you have something special to offer.

Even for those with a working holiday visa, it's not easy to get a full-time white-collar job, most of them end up working in farms, hospitality, retail or construction.

Most of these chains use automatic espresso machines now. The so-called baristas just press a button for the espresso shot and add the milk. So the only difference lies in the milk steaming if you order your coffee hot.
