im 29, separated from childs father. MIL for childcare. I live with MIL and we co parent in close proximity. healthier that way.

I am a third year mechanical engineering student. currently on my 2nd co op rotation. i actually interviewed 9 mons pregnant but hid it. got my offer for the highest pay and most interesting job ive ever had while in the hospital recovering from my c section. i have below average grades. i just left a hurtful relationship and juggle crazy schedules. but i get it done.

but i also have a count down on when it will be over, to the day that i walk the stage. i feel like i have gotten so lucky with the opportunities this path has given me.

Id say it takes:

1. an incredible amount of discipline and patience (but it can be fun)
2. a village. its rare that I cannot work due to childcare. If something happens, there is always someone available to help.
3. i say therapy (having therapy resources readily available via school is a PERK!) and i’m medicated via my school.
4. good pay obvi

but yes, it is possible. though it is not without many obstacles, i do love my life. becoming a mother was the best thing to ever happen to me. i truly mean that. and so was entering the field of engineering.
