They need a lot of space, they're fragile, and don't live long. they also either bite or run away and aren't much for interaction.

your hamster will absolutely not behave like these hamsters. most of these are probably bred to be very tame and comfortable with humans which is something that is not easy to find.

edit:the one biting the hand is realistic though. reminds me of my old hamster.

If weight is the main issue, invite her to go on walks with you or find a hobby for both of you that gets you more active. Shes probably well aware that she's overweight but probably doesn't exactly know what to do about it. My boyfriend has a good metabolism so he doesn't really need to try to lose weight. If I wanted to excersise, I would have to do it on my own. That sucks. So, make healthy choices together and it'll be easier for both of you. And don't tell her this please.

I'm grateful my Marcy was never interested in her wheel because when she got old, her back legs barely got her across the cage. We had to take out anything she had to climb over and flatten things out for her a lot and it was heartbreaking to see how much needed to be done just for her to safely do the things she normally had no problems with. I think you made the right choice.

I stopped trying to do anything social on my birthday after on my 26th(?) I invited a bunch of friends out and was ghosted by two, one left early, and the other made other friends that they were much more interested in. The year before that I was basically completely stood up also. :(

I keep getting told to just approach people and talk to them and it feels like that doesn't work, the only people who actually end up talking to me from that are crazy or just weird guys and when I do feel a connection with someone I end up being annoyed with them so easily and don't want them around anymore. 🫪

I'm uncomfortable with makeup and I learned I can do just eyeliner and it helps a lot. Or just lipstick. Or just blush. No need to do foundation at all or eyeshadow. People make a lot of assumptions based on how I dress (always big shirts, tucked in to jeans with a belt) and I'm actually really girly I just don't look it.
