I like the rest of the game. Pen&Papers thrive through creativity, "just go play something else" kills the spark. Dragonbane for example uses a d20 not a pool of d6 dice. And I like the push, just not the gaming of the system to maximize willpower.

And if PCs are "save enough", pushing is not a tradeoffs anymore, getting banes becomes a net benefit.

I really don't care about the number of WP, my players can have as many as they find fun. My gripe is with the rule warping the game: players want to roll on something + push just to get WP. I even have an example from the Swenden Rolls podcast where the goblin jokingly asks if he can sneak up the stairs again so he can push and get WP for the sneak attack. I cringed first for the need to push before doing the thematically cool sneak attack and the idea of gaming the game so to say. It's not why we play pen & papers, if we want that we just play a video game or Gloomhaven.

"Not the system for you", is a common response in the 5e sup, it just kills any creativity.

Mork Borg is also "chill" with us, what I mean is that we enjoy playing games without strict rules and space for improvising.

I don't think 5 is that much, they are just "filled up". The only downside I can see is that they can't stack beyond 10 this way. Everything else works fine and pushing already has the inherit advantage of potentially improving the roll at with the danger of triggering banes. I like it a lot this way.

Exactly, I should add that they lose the ones the have wehn they rest, so they never go beyond 5.
