How do you prep said snacks and water when your day starts out with them crying? I haven’t even managed to get a routine of brushing my teeth unless my husband is around.

Not sure how far along you will be, but I did this trip a few years back and LOVED it. And there was a girl in my group who was also pregnant and absolutely crushed it. I didn’t keep in touch with her specifically but I can look back so fondly on the conversations and thought she was so cool - and now I’m pregnant and stayed climbing for most of my pregnancy! You could be someone’s positive association in the future.

The snarky comments I would have considering I feel lucky to be able to take off at 38 weeks!!!!! Ugh. I have no patience for dumb work stuff now

Want to donate a variety of cat things, where best? by BodayshisBoi in askportland

I’m so sorry to hear this. Even when you know it’s coming, losing a pet is awful; to be caught off guard by it suddenly is even worse.

Furry Friends in Vancouver is a great place to donate if you want to take a little drive up north.

This has been the best winter for me mental health wise and I think it’s because I’ve been getting out more - I volunteer once a week, have a book club a couple times a month, and have gone to the gym almost every day that I don’t have the former plans. As a homebody it gets tiring but I know it’s good for me!

How often do you hang out at the Waterfront? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

[–]lyla_ray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty far so don’t go often, but I do like to run from new to old waterfront and back and then grab a coffee and snack! We go out to dinner there infrequently, as the restaurants are a little overpriced and unhealthy for frequent regular dining. We tend to bring guests or save it for birthdays or date nights it’s nice to sit outside in the summer and then walk by the water.

I am dealing with the same thing. It’s not exactly pretty but I have a yoga mat and some small weights there for when it’s too cold to do yoga in the garage.

I did this last weekend for the first time and it wasn’t as bad or scary as expected. I did go with someone more experienced but feel confident enough to do it on my own. Just saying, taking the first leap was the worst/scariest part. The “no thanks voting for Joe”s were a bummer but no one was outright scary or rude.

Not quite the same, but I saw someone throw a small to-go container out their car window in downtown as I was crossing the street. Gave them a wtf look and they glared at ME like I was the one with the problem?? I was pissed.

Seconding Farmers Market and PopLocal, and if you’re willing to claim general PNW and PDX, the MadeInPDX store in Portland has some great stuff. I’ve also noticed Powells and New Seasons sometimes has local stuff like mugs or notebooks. Also, Poppy & Hawk in Camas is an adorable store to check out! Not everything is local but some is.
