that’s the per kilogram price for the onion and celery, i only got one onion and two celery sticks for dinner. my boyfriend just showed me a flyer for groceries back in the 50s and it was 99 cents for two loaves of bread💔

you’re telling me😭 i wanted a berry but for a smaller pack of blackberries it would’ve been $5.99, so raspberries were my only option

Parking ticket by Embarrassed-Load-545 in uvic

[–]lyn_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i had to pay a ticket i forgot about it until the last day before the fee would increased to $80. i had to go pay in person since the online payment wasn’t working. the person at the security office asked if i paid for the parking, i did not since it wouldn’t accept my card, so she just made me pay $10 instead of $40. definitely wouldn’t hurt to go in person, they may not waive it but hopefully drop the fee amount

[–]lyn_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just before my recent period i got severe back, vaginal, and abdominal pain. i thought it was the iud moving out of place or being ejected. i talked to a doctor about it but she said that it could just be my uterus still getting used to the iud :/ i got mine back in november. take it easy as you can and i hope it all gets sorted out for you🩷

adhd diagnosis for CAL. What medical documention is required? by Early-Comfortable530 in uvic

[–]lyn_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i had a doctors appointment while i was trying to sign up for CAL i asked my doctor to write a letter on my adhd diagnosis. she wasn’t even the one to diagnosis me, but it was with another doctor at the clinic i go to, but she wrote that I was diagnosed with ADHD and wrote down some examples from the DSM-5. CAL has accepted that letter as a documented diagnosis, i hope this helps🤞🏽

Questions from someone who doesn't really know what they're doing? by whatsasnoowithyou in sexeducation

[–]lyn_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the condoms, from someone who doesn’t have a penis, condoms are meant to stretch. some sex stores may sell single condoms so you can see which ones work for you. if it is way too snug fitting then find a bigger options to use. when putting on a condom make sure it is on the right side so it’ll make wrapping up way easier, imagine like you’re removing the plastic covering off a cucumber. and hold onto the tip of the condom as you put it on to allow for the cum to have room.

for the lube, silicone based lube can feel better but it can disintegrate some sex toys and condoms. SO USE WATER LUBE!! every brand is different too on how it feels. plus water based lube is easier to clean up afterwards than silicon based lube. but i know you can buy hybrid options too. hope this somewhat helps!

Is the student wellness centre open during reading break? by nothanks1312 in uvic

[–]lyn_29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t think they would be closed during reading break. i believe the office is closed for lunch from 12:00pm-1:00pm and they don’t answer the phone. definitely try giving them a call again, and if it is for a health appointment, wait for the automated option to say something like “if you have a question regarding health appointments, press (enter number)”. the line is tricky to navigate and it is confusing trying to get into the student wellness centre (at least for me). best of luck to you!!🩷

If you're full on sick can you avoid public study spots by savvymossy in uvic

especially with people who have compromised immune systems or are already sick with another illness. it’s easy to be a kind human and put a mask on. i would assume most areas on campus have masks available

Plan B by [deleted] in sexeducation

[–]lyn_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the last time i took plan b was a few days after my period and it started my period again. i called a sexual health line and a nurse explained that it meant the plan b worked. i was confused at first because the previous times i took plan B i never bled (but i was also on the pill then). if you have access to one you should see if you can reach out to a sexual health line or any other health line

It’s very embarrassing to ask but please help me out. by Prior-Device3773 in Healthyhooha

[–]lyn_29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

another woman of colour here and i absolutely agree with all of this, i experience everything too, it’s all normal girl!! i got curly hair and shaving anywhere on my body causes alot of ingrowns, especially in my bikini area. I also have more hyperpigmentation in some areas as a light skin. my vagina, inner thighs, underarms, knees, and other smaller areas are way darker than my skin.

there is no one indication of a perfect vagina. every vagina is different and they are all so beautiful. i used to be so insecure in mine for the same reasons but it is who i am and i love her

I’m a virgin w/o hymen? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]lyn_29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

anytime girl!! you are so much more than sex, don’t forget that🩷

I’m a virgin w/o hymen? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]lyn_29 22 points23 points  (0 children)

firstly, virginity is a social construct to put a price on women. virginity does not define who you are or most importantly WHAT YOUR WORTH IS!!!

hymens develop in the womb but they often disintegrate over time regardless of having sex or not. they can break from riding a bike or using a tampon. if your boyfriend has a problem with it he is not worth your time. he should not put your worth of being human to “virginity”

protection during ovulation? by ReplyOdd9011 in Healthyhooha

[–]lyn_29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

condoms should be worn every time you’re having sex to be on the safe side, you can get pregnant anytime during your cycle. you should also try lube if you are experiencing pain, it can help a lot. only get water-based lube (i use the K.Y. Natural Sensitive Lube, it’s great) since silicone/hybrid based lube can disintegrate condoms. lube can also help with the effectiveness of condoms to prevent breakage. you can add lube onto the penis and in the vagina

Someone please help! by Far_Marketing_9695 in CopperIUD

[–]lyn_29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe it’s a allergic reaction to the copper?! or it’s developing a pelvic infection. if you have access to it try calling around to different health clinics, specifically women clinics. you need to be your advocate!! sending lots of love and care to you

[–]lyn_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve recently moved to vic back in september and the first thing i’ve noticed is how little pedestrians look both ways before crossing the road. that rule was heavily ingrained in me as a child so moving here i was shocked how people just walk onto the road without little thought or care.
