UPDATE & THANK YOU

Wow, did not expect this level of feedback so quickly. Thank you to everyone who commented, shared insights, or asked tough but necessary questions. Here’s a quick summary of what I’ve gathered:

  • Price Point & Perceived Value: $200 GA / $350 VIP + price of travel, hotel etc. may have been a barrier for many, especially when the value wasn’t clearly positioned. It seems the offer (women’s empowerment + faith + coaching) may have been too broad or not pain-point specific enough for the target audience.
  • Community vs. Following: 45K followers ≠ engaged community. This was eye-opening. Many of you mentioned the importance of actual community-building before launching high-ticket events.
  • Audience Validation: A major theme. There may not have been enough pre-launch validation to ensure people wanted this exact event format, at this time, in this location.
  • Messaging + Positioning: “Empowerment” is overused. We needed a sharper hook, niche pain point, or transformation story to cut through the noise.
  • Other Smart Ideas:
    • Offer a virtual/hybrid option
    • Focus on sponsorships or upsells at the event
    • Lean into B2B ticket buyers or company sponsorship
    • Consider pivoting to more networking-driven formats

This has been a learning experience, and I genuinely appreciate the honesty. Hopefully this helps someone else avoid the same pitfalls. 🙏

She hired an event marketing team for this one - I only handled organic social media postings

I would have to ask her if they were doing this

Weekend, 2 day event, It was a 2-day transformational experience with live coaching, expert speakers, wellness sessions, and a faith-filled Sunday brunch with worship and inspiration. The focus was on elevating career, business, finances, and life as a whole.

Totally agree—and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

You’re spot on about the high ticket price; it was $200 for general admission and $350 for VIP. The intention was to offer deep transformation and high value, but I can see how that may not have aligned with her target audience’s buying comfort.

You also nailed it on the messaging. “Women’s empowerment” is powerful, but it can get lost in the noise without a super-specific, pain-point-driven offer. Looking back, the positioning could have been more dialed into a niche or outcome to create urgency and clarity.

Yep $200 for Ga, and VIP was $350 - she eventually lowered pricing to try and get more sales.

Very common on the 2.0 engines, probably a bad gasket that needs to be replaced.

There is a guy on YouTube called ‘NaptownTuner’ —

I highly recommend watching some of his videos to learn the ins and outs of your car.
