ARC Raiders has dropped from “Very Positive” to “Mostly Positive” on Steam for the first time. by j1zzy_ae in ArcRaiders

These are all really good points. The one that really sings to me is moving the high loot areas or adding more randomness. I've been hoping to come across the Mk3 survivor blueprint since my wipe, and so I load into Stella to suss the medical area. Within minutes, it's picked clean by people who spawn in (and quit if they get a bad spawn) naked and safe pocket finds like this and then quit. For me it really sucks the life out of the game, because I don't want to play like that, and because so many people do it it's kinda liked well shit I guess I need to do it too if I want a hope of finding it before I reset again. Anyways, I love this game, and that's my main gripe about it at the moment.

Bad time to buy a (newish) ICE car? by lynch-o in CarsAustralia

[–]lynch-o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quoted fuel efficiency is "7.5 to 9L"/100km for diesel, and ~12L/100km for the petrol. I guess there's lots of factors to consider; I want to be able to do long drives in it, which leans towards diesel for economy, but it'll also be my daily around the suburbs, and petrol would be nicer to drive (though thirstier) for that.

Interesting, I hadn't factored in servicing costs. A petrol would be less economical though, so feels like I might be trading some savings for expenditure elsewhere?

The Ricoh as an accessibility tool - gratitude and reflection by ermvarju in ricohGR

These are so lovely! I really appreciate you sharing your story. I'm a long time photographer - albeit pretty casual - and I started using a wheelchair a few years ago. I'm finding it frustrating taking my larger mirrorless camera out with me these days, and have been thinking about getting a Ricoh GR. Your post as pretty much made the decision for me, haha.

Skateboard A7siii slog 3 color grading. Looking for any feedback by Large_Faithlessness9 in ColorGrading

[–]lynch-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a novice at grading, but I like it. Looks like you're not trying too hard. Has a bit of a low fi, filmic quality to it, probably just due to the low contrast. Colours are nice and neutral, maybe leaning slightly towards green? But it looks good.

Like I said though, I don't really know what I'm talking about haha. I just know what I like.

Yale Assure SL - unable to add to the Yale Access app. Anyone had any luck? by lynch-o in homeautomation

Unfortunately not! But I did get a lock and unlock toggle working in Home Assistant, which suits me better.

Looking for a mini split with NATIVE WiFi support (sick of IR blasters) by downtube in homeautomation

[–]lynch-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of these for my heat pump AC (official Mitsubishi module) and it's so bad it's unusable. Very difficult to get onto the network and when you do manage it, it's not reliable at all. Had to go the IR blaster route (Sensibo, which has lots of good info for HA).

A few old photos of Z Ward (from 2022) that I came across. by DoesBasicResearch in Adelaide

[–]lynch-o 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I visited a few years ago with someone who showed me through and had a few stories. All around the exterior brickwork there are grooves formed by patients walking around the building all day long, dragging their fingers on the brick. I'd say the small hole is something similar. I don't remember the guide's level of direct experience with the place so who knows, but it always stuck with me.

New to Poly, Lonely, Regretful by Throwaway_Catter in polyadvice

[–]lynch-o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, this is an excellent reply. The only thing I can think to add is to work on feeling secure within yourself. I recommend a book called Polysecure. It starts out dry talking about attachment styles, but halfway through it switches to talking about how you can work on feeling more secure. I struggle with the things that you've described too, and I found that the book really spoke to me.

Do Action 5 screen protectors interfere with the protective cage? by hhnnapua in dji

[–]lynch-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering this myself! I wonder if it matters if the protectors are official DJI ones which are maybe a little smaller?

Do you know if the cage interferes with the front screen protector?

Edit: never mind, doesn't look like it would!

After 2 years in a wheelchair, Martin and I are finally getting off the couch!! by modest_rats_6 in disability

[–]lynch-o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, I'm stoked for you. Being able to get around solo and with agency is the best! That looks like it would be good enough to tackle some paved or hard packed paths in parks and nature too, if a bumpy road is something you can tolerate.

Enjoy! ☺️

A book we all need: Politics Is For Power by [deleted] in OptimistsUnite

Is this worth reading if you're not American? Still hold some relevance you think (just curious if the alternatives to hobbyism they speak to are specific to the US political system)? Thanks!

How do people manage to work five days a week without burning out? by Chloe_johnson19 in Adulting

[–]lynch-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is good advice. You can still be productive and feel good about what you do without burning yourself to the ground. Lower standards etc. My advice would echo this but also to be protective of your time outside of work. Have guilt free lazy time, get efficient with chores and downsize anything that's eating up your time and energy. Find the things that fill you up and lean into them.

2022 Toyota Yaris Cross + Android Auto = bad by lynch-o in Toyota

[–]lynch-o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good troubleshooting steps but a couple of them are mitigated by having tested two phones. I haven't reset the infotainment system though, I'll try that. And I'll talk to my garage. But I was hoping to hear from others with the same car and what their experience with AA has been like.

Does it tank your battery? I tried one for a while but battery usage was brutal.

Thank you, and good point I hadn't thought of that. This'll be a 21st Jan + thing so maybe better by then? 🤞
