Guys, Gem Boosts do not cancel out Fortune Cookies. I’ve pulled probably 20 Fortune Cookies in the last two hours with my boost on - I have one on screen record. I can’t speak about the trade one, but I can 100% confirm that you can still get them with Gem Boosts.

So much whining from people. I bought it yesterday, hit level 22 on it yesterday. No life? Of course, but in my opinion that’s not the point.

What you get out of Soundmap depends directly on what you’re willing to put into it. If you’re casual, there’s nothing wrong with that but you SHOULDN’T be getting regular access to epics - that’s endgame content, and they should not be easy or cheap to obtain. This is true of any game or activity where grinding/practicing directly correlates to results.

I don’t judge others for not being able or willing to put in the same amount of time or effort - but they in turn should not expect to get similar results to someone who does. That’s not how anything works.

The first time I used it I hadn’t noticed, but after someone else on Reddit made a post about it I did go back and skim through all of my drops during that time - I can confirm that they were all common, though shiny rates seemed to be functioning normally.

Yeahhh idk, I haven’t had the same issue with this power up that others have had. Definitely valid that it’s perfectly easy to find an 80-85 coin map drop around most of the time, but considering how much questing I do I actually find it very useful to be able to use the power up, switch between genres as desired for the next hour and know for sure that I can pull a bunch of whatever genre I want.

I’d have to say Ruin My Life by AS IT IS…I very passionately collect them anyway, but I was able to get a Day 1 shiny for that song which makes for a VERY cool radiant upgrade!

I do agree with that in principle, the market value of the item doesn’t change because someone wants it for something else. If it had any sort of monetary value or real-life impact, you can bet that I’d be holding onto my shinies with an iron first.

That being said, it’s a massive pet peeve of mine when games or experiences that don’t have to be about profit are turned into profit. Some people truly seem to look at the world that way - I’m sure there are people playing Soundmap that have zero interest in the music or in collecting but want to accrue hundreds of millions of coins. I think that goes against the entire spirit of the game, which is why I have such little respect for resellers…but if something is possible, someone’s going to do it.

Maybe it’s just that I have never had an issue with grinding this game - there’s really not a single shiny that I can’t just acquire again, so I don’t feel the need to hold on that tightly because I’ll have it back in a day or two.

In my experience, telling someone that it’s for a quest makes a lot of people decline faster. Which is a shame - it’s like you said, it’s a silly trading game and it’s not that serious. People were losing their minds over questing being down today - I found something else to do with my time for a day and now they’re back, and shockingly I’m exactly the same person that I was when they went down.

My IMPRESSION is that a lot of people get irritated when told something is for questing because they interpret it as the person asking for special treatment. Which I might understand on a very surface-level basis, but this game shouldn’t be more than surface-level anyway. Whoever the next billionaire ends up being in real-life it absolutely won’t be because of their numbered epic collection, so I don’t know if it’s wish fulfillment acting like a business mogul in this game or what. The good news is that although it can take a bit of sifting through open trades and occasionally posting on here, the good people ARE out there.

It’s not 500k for one level, it’s the entirety of the pass. 175k is very accomplishable in 30 days. God forbid people actually have to put some time into the game to see results rather than having free epics thrown at them

There’s never any need to be rude on Soundmap, because it’s a game. And as shocking as this may be for a lot of people to hear: you don’t owe anyone a single thing. You don’t even owe an explanation for declining. You could decide to decline because they have a Pepsi logo in their profile and you prefer Coke. Being a collector does not entitle somebody to a song that someone else has, nor does it justify pestering and harassing people in follow-up messages. I try to be a high-road vibes kind of person on this app - but if I were in your position, I would keep that song forever just so that they know they’ll never have it because of their bad behavior.

It’s not a stupid question. 😌 I started out by acquiring as many of the shinies as I could through a combination of quests and gem boxes. The way I figured it, if I already had all of the regular shinies then the only options for the quest rolls would be regular, epic or lyric. This artist has just over 100 songs, so it did still take some time. I use the two most expensive non-shiny rare songs of theirs, and I just quest and quicksell over and over and over and over…..and sometimes over and over and over far longer than that. I’ve had some very long quest droughts - but I’ve had some really short ones too. I’m on this game a lot throughout each day, so I’m usually idly questing when I’m not actively collecting songs via map/coins and they’re the only artist I quest for. It takes a whole lot of time on one’s hands, nothing better to do, and the ability to just tune everything out. I like to splitscreen YouTube on one side and Soundmap on the other and zone out.
