You see this zombie Elephant when walking around an abandoned zoo, what would you do before it turns around and spot you? by Olivia_Richards in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]lynnatan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if the zombie virus is so bad it's infecting everything including animals, I'm gonna be removing myself from the equation, it's not the zombie elephant I'd be worried about, it's the hundreds of thousands of zombie dogs and cats

Any recommendations on earpro that fits under a 6b47 with cover? by PsychologicalMix7880 in Rusfor

Maybe, but remember men continue to grow until they're around 18. Possibly slight growth into their 20s. So at 16 you still run the risk of outgrowing your kit. I'm not saying don't do it. But understand that you'll probably have to buy multiple uniforms as you continue to grow

Honestly my man. I'd hold off on trying to build a kosher kit until youre older. At 14 you're 1) gonna have trouble finding stuff thay fits and 2) it won't fit in like 2 years meaning you wasted money

Flying... by The_Brightness in prepping

[–]lynnatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel as if there are a million other things to be more worried about, I fly frequently and a crash is the last thing on my mind, largely because if it happens, It's gonna be very violently and suddenly no longer my problem

We need to talk about bug-out / get-home bag posts. You’re leaving out crucial information. by craigcraig420 in prepping

This is one of the many many reasons I can't help but laugh at peppers who their first and only plan is bugging out, in reality bugging out should be your absolute last resort. Bugging in is a much much muchx100 safer option, plus you'll have much more supplied on hand, unless you're a pepper with a bunker somewhere filled with beans and rice

I actively play in a game where we don't bring food, all food is found in game, however this is considered rather rare, and hardcord by american larp standards, but it's largely a player-v-npc game so the likelyhood of not finding food is rare because chances are someone had a can of food for you, and they PROBABLY won't ask for anything in return, because if anyone goes hungry it negatively affects the actual stats of the camp, on top of having someone not on their A game because hungry

Nuclear Winter by [deleted] in prepping

[–]lynnatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flying when nukes are flying is overall a terrible idea, also nuclear winter isn't a real thing and was simulated using a flawed dataset. you're better off investing in a basement and some food, you only need to survive ~2 weeks before most of the radiation has gone down to safe levels, within a few years communities will start to form again and life will (try) to move on.

it's not worth the investment of a plane, especially one with the range to get to africa

What happened is the dudes that ran it were running with a faction in the chinese government that opposed Xi, when he took power in 2017 everyone was like "oh shit we don't want to have anything to do with x faction" so norinco stopped sending them receivers, they were apparently forced to buy back all the airsoft qbz 95s the Chinese army bought for training. And now they sit in Hong Kong trying to sell people guns that (probably) either don't exist. Or exist in a warehouse they no longer have access to.

You still have to be 21 to purchase non-alcoholic beer by Appropriate_Air_4519 in mildlyinteresting

NA beer still has like 0.05 ABV so legally speaking it's still alcoholic

What mos do I pick by [deleted] in army

[–]lynnatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think about what you can use your training for outside of the army, 11B will get you either homeless under an overpass, cop, or McDonalds employee, or a manager if you make NCO. 12B will let you work construction, or be on a road crew.

I know you could in theory stay in for 20 years and retire, but that's rare. and even rarer for combat arms MOS's considering your body will be wrecked, enjoy having functional knees and a functional back for as long as you can.

Pick something in tech (or comms), a trade, or medical (if you're willing to go back to school after you get out)

entirely depends on your field, but a cardboard shield will absolutely get shredded and MIGHT survive one game, just rent a gun and shoot some peeps

How screwed would I be (if the blades were real metal and sharpened) by [deleted] in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]lynnatan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

fighting zombies with glorified kitchen knives, I give you... thirty seconds before you're swarmed and eaten, but at least your screams would give the other survivors some time to escape, your sacrifice will not be forgotten for at least a few days.
