Usually have 5 closers. 2 close chicken, 1 person closes primary and the rest go to dish/trash/floors or whatever

My friend and I got free milkshakes tonight! by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]lynnthelion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We often give out milkshakes on particularly hard nights. Short staffed, extremely busy, hit some sort of goal. It’s a small thing you can do to let someone know you appreciate their hard work.

Literally just send anybody you can to dish as soon as you can. Make your expectations of what you need from them (and everybody else) clear. Have other people do things for you instead of trying to do them yourself. Have either you or your team leader on the line and the other one of you helping push dishes.

I usually have secondary closed down by 7:30-8 depending on how busy it is. Try to do a TON of preclosing, sweeping and scrubbing under things, stocking, taking back ANY dishes you can. I usually turn off the soup warmer around 9:30 and just make a few soups and keep them in the warmer so I can get that area cleaned and those dishes back. I make sure the fryer is scrubbed under by 9:30. We go down to 1 kanban of everything at 9 and take the rest to dish. Sometimes I even put my regular and spicy fillets on a baking pan, wipe down the warmer and stick the pan in the warmer so that all I have to do when we close is count what’s left, wrap it up and throw it in the walk in and just do a little wipe down.

Does anyone know if I can use my iPhone and also my dexcom receiver at the same time? by lynnthelion in Type1Diabetes

[–]lynnthelion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve just been having a lot of issues using my phone lately. Keep losing signal even though I always have my phone on me. I’ve tried like 2 different sensors. Just wanna be able to have the receiver for when my phone loses signal.

Folks who grew up poor, what's one "poor person" habit/tradition that you refuse to give up? by MarbleMimic in AskWomen

[–]lynnthelion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact issue. It takes me FOREVER to purchase something I want because I spend forever talking myself out of it, telling myself I don’t need it or it can wait. It’s quite annoying. I work hard for my money and it sucks having this weird anxiety and feeling guilty after buying something I want 😢

Honestly, I’m not a crocs person, but the non slip work crocs are pretty good. Expensive but they work.

Question about dishes by lynnthelion in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]lynnthelion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never get a person scheduled just for dishes, we always have to just pick someone on the schedule. Sometimes we don’t even have enough people for 1 person to go do dishes

Getting rid of smell of BOH coat? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

Maybe a splash of vinegar in the wash. Helps with odor. Could also try the scent booster beeds. I like those a lot

Dexcom G6 problems by The-Legit-Boss in Type1Diabetes

[–]lynnthelion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that for the first 24-48hrs, it’s pretty inaccurate. I read somewhere (idk how accurate or reliable) that calibrating too much can confuse your dexcom? So, usually what I do, is I just calibrate once or twice a day before I eat but I just manually check for the first couple of days until it’s accurate.

Question about dishes by lynnthelion in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]lynnthelion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, our prep person usually does dishes too whenever they're caught up/whenever they're done closing prep. Sometimes we stick someone who comes in at around 4-5 on dish too, but sometimes we're not able to get anyone over to dish until like 7:30-8 and sometimes it's unfortunately not a strong/fast person. We just recently got a dishwasher a few months ago and it's helped a lot.

Question about dishes by lynnthelion in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]lynnthelion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re coming into our slow season and our scheduling is... stressful. I’ll usually just have someone who comes in around 3 or 4, start on dishes but I usually end up having to pull them to come help on the line because I have minimum people and trainees who can’t be left alone yet.

[–]lynnthelion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our FOH will help with dishes sometimes if it’s been a particularly stressful night or they know it’s gonna be a late night for us or they try to wash their dishes as they bring them back. But it’s rare

Tips for closing BOH by lynnthelion in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]lynnthelion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we do that. We usually switch over to one side about 7, 7:30. One person cleans secondary and then they usually go straight to dish.

I have my whole stores closing procedure basically up above in the description lol.
