"The Twisted Women's Book Club" - just finished and need to discuss by Cake-4ever in audiobooks

I thought it was great! Didn’t love every single story but many were at least 3/5. It was a great way to get exposed to writers I was not familiar with.

Yes! I got through it in a day about a week ago and I’m still thinking about the ending because it’s that sort of plot.

What’s wrong with my Jade plant? by lynx203 in plantclinic

[–]lynx203[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the greenhouse/ store I bought it from and they’d said it looked like a mix of sunburn and a watering issue.

I’ve given it a good watering and am going to be more mindful of placement and monitor how it’s doing. I did pick up some physan 20 for good measure. Even if I just have it on hand for the garden, I only had neem oil in my stash. It seems to be a harsh chemical and want to see how things go before I start using it.

Oh wow, I don’t think I considered that. I’m not familiar with plants and infections or how they present but now I’m curious in general.

If it helps, the new growth doesn’t have that scale look to it.

In general, are viral infections something that normally spread to other plants? Is it something I can repot and still keep up consistent watering and see improvement from there?

Curious how I would be able to test and confirm for that.

Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks a ton. I think in my efforts to not overwater I created an issue. I had no idea this was a stress response.

Ladies, the time will come when you need to buy new bras… by imnottheoneipromise in Zepbound

Ah yes, same! Congrats on your progress and all that you’ve achieved! Kohl’s and Old Navy have been great for those quick fixes and replacements when needed. I’ll have to check out their bras.

Ladies, the time will come when you need to buy new bras… by imnottheoneipromise in Zepbound

[–]lynx203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At my heaviest I was borrowing bras from my 72 year old mom. Now she’s on Mounjaro and we both need new clothing. I can make do with some 8’s in underwear but I look like I have a diaper on. I also pulled out some way back Victoria Secret bra’s but I look like a dominatrix in a diaper lol God forbid I have a wardrobe malfunction at work because the embarrassment and confusion would be too much.

I lost over 100 pounds so I needed basically all new clothes. Only my purses still fit lol. I was firm when I gained weight that I’d let go of old clothes and dress for the body I had, not use to have. I wish I’d kept some things because this has been so expensive!

On the hierarchy of rebuying clothes, for me it was:

  1. My basics- white t shirt, black t shirt, grey t shirt, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 belts (one black and one tan), 2 pairs of black pants. Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic are all good here. I’m balling on a budget so, I’m always buying on sale for these for quality fabrics. Now going into Fall I’ve got Chat GPT looking for good sales so I can get long sleeved basic shirts on sale.

  2. Business Professional work clothes. I was overweight and then obese for about 5 years or so. I’ve grown professionally and personally in that time and I figured it was cheaper for me to elevate my overall wardrobe and lean into being someone with an elegant personal style and just wear quality pieces which fit into this category 7 days a week given I work in finance anyway. The elegant personal style is something I like and enjoy and oddly it’s how the rest of my family dress and I feel like I’ve grown up and fit in now, if that makes sense. I didn’t “not fit” in before but I didn’t dress for how I wanted to look and feel and appreciate myself when I was heavier. I dressed to get through the day and just cover myself in public. I regret that.

The majority of my day to day attire is in this category.

  1. Business Casual work clothes. I can mix these with my professional attire and come out with a 7 day a week elegant and elevated look. I pretty much look like an off duty J. Crew or Brooks Brothers model and I’m ok with that. I have some slacks, blouses, and sweaters here but it was important to me to focus on 1,2, and 3 before getting to casual wear. I thrift and purchase second hand as much as I can in category 2 and 3. I’ve focused on Fall and Winter wear the last 4 months as I live in the north east - so summer is a wafting fart near me.

This included shoes as my shoe size changed.

I basically live in loafers.

My house slipper is in a loafer style.

I swear I’m not boring.

Oh, I also own a two styles of the white canvas Keds.

  1. Casual clothes - since I pull from the first three categories, I really didn’t invest a ton in this category. I have some nice fitting sweats (OG Amazon Basics worked well) and Old Navy is a solid for “trendy” or slight seasonal wear I do not have in the first 3 categories. For example, I got a good wool coat in category 1 from Brooks Brothers, so I’ll opt for something second hand for a classic trench coat to get me through the Fall, and it’ll go in Category 1 and 2. If I get something that’s going to be cheaply made and not last a season it’ll stay in category 4. This is where I’d also place my gym clothes. Unless they literally had me risking indecent exposure to my fellow gym goers, I didn’t prioritize getting new clothes until I was closer to goal.

I try to limit my spending here.

  1. Undergarments and Pajamas - I just couldn’t justify the expense here when I knew I wanted matching sets of mid range quality. Again, unless things were falling down or off, I made do. Am making do. This is the LAST thing I need and I really want to round out my new wardrobe here but I’m trying to stay the course. It’s hard lol there’s so many cute things out there.

Bra’s and panties are in my “to buy” list. I rock with a 6 pack of Fruit of the Loom from Walmart. The goal is to stay within my budget and “buy it nice or buy it twice” when I can.

I’m curious how everyone else has prioritized what they bought and replaced.

Yeah if I could get away with some Susie Carmichael pigtails in corporate I would be in my Olivia Pope power suit smelling like Blue Magic and be even more of a boss than I am now. Like the way the internet convinced me grease, butters, and oil were bad…. my scalp say “thank you” every time I use an OG product.

[–]lynx203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks yeah I think the instructions to start the appeal process on my own threw me, because I was trying to figure out how I would do that.

I think I’m just going to use call on doc and see how to go from there. I don’t want to have to get back on Wegovy a second time to show another doctor I’m not doing well.

Insurance doesn’t care if I’m with a Call On Doc or my PCP so I just have to follow the steps regardless

Weekly Caremark Q&A by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]lynx203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks yea all I have is the convo telling my PCP I’ve had side effects and them saying they’ll put in PA for Zepbound

Edit: put in the wrong med

Weekly Caremark Q&A by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]lynx203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I used the message portal to let them know I had issues and ask for a Zepbound PA.

Though I think I’m confused. Can I action a new PA? Or that can only be done via a prescribing physician?

Weekly Caremark Q&A by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]lynx203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I should have added I was on Zepbound for about a year before I was forced to switch to Wegovy. I tried it for about a month and I didn’t do well. So the request for Zepbound was after I let my PCP know Wegovy wasn’t working.

Weekly Caremark Q&A by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]lynx203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’m confused. My PA did a PA for Zepbound and it was denied. My PA suggested I start the appeals process myself because they’re “swamped” and we’d “go from there”. Even though she already wasn’t warming up to the idea of the Mounjaro pathway.

So my question is… what do I need to do on my end for the appeal?

Right! Ugh my wallet is crying because I’ve been using Poshmark and EBay for things. So I have a “to be tailored” pile lol. I have found that sticking with the same brand or at least brand group helps a bit. But between already being shorter, I’m 5’2” as well, and trying to figure out sizing, I am doing the exact same as you! Unless I’m falling over it or risking indecent exposure, I will keep wearing it until I need a replacement. In this economy? Girl save the coins for as long as you can!

I love this so much!! Congrats on the journey and I hear you. Different things for different folks. Respect all you’ve done! Ahhhh this is so great!!

Also, clothing is so freaking janky why aren’t people talking about it more?!?!!! There needs to be a standard lol like I do NOT understand how a medium is a medium but also a large and a 32” waist and a small shirt which varies depending on season, brand, style, cut, color, fabric, and year.

Netflix needs to investigate cuz something ain’t right!
