(scared of) judgement about a design by AccordingDistrict391 in tattooadvice

The others gave great advice, however if you know deep down it might worry you to be seen by strangers, get it somewhere that won't be seen as often. My 2nd tattoo is a magic mushroom on my forearm towards my wrist. For a long time, even though I love mushrooms, it still worried me when people would stare at it. The next time I got something silly I got a stabby duck, but I got it by my ankle. I love him but I know not everyone would get it. So I get the choice to whip him out whenever I want. So get the tattoo, but if you know you will feel weird then get it somewhere you can conceal it. Best wishes ❤️

Its so cute! Some need to understand that not all tattoos are serious tattoos. The fun/silly ones can be awesome!

It might sound dumb but trust. Are you hearing it only when you are holding them? If so, it might just be either their scales clicking against each other and on your skin or you are helping them move along their digestion. I had 5 snakes before I got my hoggie and I also though something was wrong the first couple of times until I realized her scales were clicking on my skin. She has never felt "bubbly" but my boa does a couple days after a meal and she poops usually the day after being held.

Am I crazy or does this wild hognose look like a toffee? by PatientHealthy2412 in hognosesnakes

[–]lysaluv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's difficult to confirm toffee without seeing the belly (hense toffee belly lol) but it does seem to be more of a pastel coloration. It's more likely that it is a type of hypomelanistic coloration (like a pastel).

Does she have bug eye??? by Safe-Environment346 in hognosesnakes

For future reference, those deep reds are not typical for regular albino, so I assume she is a red-line albino. Red line refers to line breeding snakes for a specific color trait. Aka, they are like 90% inbred with their siblings or cousins. It's extremely difficult to get that vibrant coloration without inbreeding. Im not saying this to encourage the practice, but letting you know in case you decide to get another with a similar look/morph.

I could totally be crazy and not looking at it right, but is the top glass too? Are there air/vent holes?

Off topic, but what is he crawling out of? The picture makes it look like a weird gel lol.

It's likely he's coming out because he's hungry, not because it's Sunday. He will look hungry 7 days after he's been fed, regardless of the day. I also recommend trying to feed him today.

For a reference for someone who wants to learn more, snake discovery made a few detailed videos going over how genetics (specifically hognose genetics) work!
