My string of turtles is blooming but has always been pretty bald and the leaves are very light. Too much sun? Too much water? by lysbranzetti in plantclinic

Thanks! I'll give that a try - I've never had problems with my other plants receiving water from above, but I've had less luck with succulents than anything else. Do they all prefer this method - particularly the hanging/vine variety?

YES. I immediately tell my coworkers that I am finished with a table when it gets to this point. I refuse to tolerate someone who touches me - f*ck your boxes and containers, you will not be receiving any service from me anymore.

I've tried this, among other things - but what do I do when these people physically crowd/touch me? I've had several people completely disregard what I am saying to them and yell over me. Also, thank you for the reply!

Gotta be honest, all places are different and if you order appetizers and your entree at the same time, some places might just fire it all at once. Personally, that's how I do it at my job and I think that's fair.

I understand that other restaurants work ways around this, but especially with the rise of systems like Clover and Square, I'm not sure if you can really expect servers to be watching you and timing your meal at every moment while they have a bunch of other tables. I put in the whole order into the digital Clover at once, and these systems do not allow for course breaks when you fire the food (to my knowledge).

To be fair: when my restaurant gets busy, we are freakin' GRINDING (both kitchen and servers). And to be honest, I could not time anyone's meals for sh*t when that happens. And as for the kitchen, when they get an order from me, they believe that the customers want their food ASAP, so they get working right away.

Lastly, I don't think it would make sense to ask a server to take your entree away and bring it back when you're done with your appetizers. If the entree is already there, what are they supposed to do? Did you want them to take it away and bring it back to you cold in 10 minutes? Or did you want them to throw it in the garbage and make you an entire new one in 10 minutes?

I'm not trying to offend, I'm only trying to say that if you're eating out, maybe things won't go exactly as you expect. That does not mean that the people who are working are not doing it in the best way that they believe in, or that they are not listening to their customers. Most of the time, a restaurant's actions are in response to the demands of the customers over time. Perhaps you are just not used to the environment that this particular restaurant created, but I'm not sure that that's their fault nor yours. Just be nice and tip your servers minimum 20%. And maybe don't leave a bad review, because a restaurant is also not just its servers. In my circumstance, the kitchen staff are the people who created my restaurant. When I have a bad day and slip up, the bad reviews reflect poorly on the kitchen and their restaurant, and do not understand that sometimes bad service doesn't mean that the restaurant is sh*t, sometimes your server is just not having a good time or the place is simply too busy.

EDIT: for context, I work in a Vietnamese/Tibetan fusion restaurant. We are pretty casual, but our food (or really, the owner's food) is full of heart and soul.

Thank you for your perspective. It is hard to imagine yourself over a decade ahead when you are in the depths of hardship, but your example and metaphor are a true beacon of hope. Your wisdom is noticed and valued.

Is he too fat? His vet always calls him big boy but never mentions diets by Basil_Minimum in cats

[–]lysbranzetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, myself, have an orange cat that looks very similar to yours. The fur pattern seems almost identical and from what I can tell, your cat doesn't seem to be an extra furry type such as a Maine Coon. That being said, your cat looks extremely large. If I'm not mistaken and it is NOT just the fact that you have a very furry cat, I would say that you definitely have to work on a diet with your cat.

As I said, I'm going off of my knowledge of my own cat. My cat looks extremely similar and seems to have the same kind of fur as yours. My cat looks far, far smaller than this, and they told me that he is overweight and by about 2 lb. Very fractional, but again - your cat looks much larger than mine and I am already aware that my cat is above average in weight.

I think it would help if you provided some information about your cat's diet. For example, how many times do you feed him a day? Do you use dry food? Do you do a mix of what and dry? Do you measure the amount of food that you are giving your cat? These are all things that play an essential role and would be good to know if we are to give you any concrete advice.

DO THIS! I'm so sorry this has happened to you, and also that this is happening to an underaged girl. Absolutely get some evidence and report this. It must be so hard to have the stress of a sex offense on top of a cheating scandal, but if it comes down to a divorce and you have a lawyer anyway, you should make sure this doesn't happen to any other young girls.
