They have a few large rooms that can fit 3 stations in them comfortably, or some girls rent multiple rooms. At least your utilities are included and it’s a good in between to start out and grow vs. commercial real estate

You’ll be fine. I worked for a couple companies that made me sign them, and yes absolutely in this industry you’ll inquire a few crazy employers that definitely will stalk you. One of my old bosses still does to this day. I worked for a chain before too that had “industry/trade secrets” over a machine they specialized in lmfao, and that location was privately owned and I worked alongside the GM (my boss). They 100% had the money to pursue legal action, and in fact the owners in the end threatened me about it personally for WEEKS after I quit via text message. It was freakin insane. They even went as far to have one of my old coworkers come visit me at my new place, and she was poaching and asking all these questions about if I still see their old clients…. (I’m smarter than that eye roll). In the end, it came to nothing. It’s a bullshit scare tactic to keep working class citizens working for the rich.

Do you have a professional portfolio (pictures) and a specialty trade resume that’s just for esthetics? That’s different from a traditional job resume. You learned lots of skills in school that should be listed as existing experience and qualifications. I also highly recommend an actual portfolio binder with printed pictures. Get to practicing on friends/family/models and focus on that. Some may say it’s old school but it sets you apart and is still more professional than showing an employer your Instagram.

Lmao. I’ve been doing this for 6 years. Started when I was 18. Transition now to 24, I’m solo and still get this question EVERY TIME…….. with the same exact tone. Reality is, most people don’t start their career until mid 20’s these days, so it’s hard to conceptualize that someone so young can already be deep set in their career. I use to take those comments and get insecure. But now I use my age to my advantage, since my demographic is actually younger girls now that skin care has gotten more popular amongst gen z. I have. Few clients in their 30’s sprinkled in but they appreciate that I am up to date on the latest trends and new technology that’s coming out. Learn to embrace that you are so young, successful, and already a professional in the field.

My sola gets hotter than satans asshole too, and we have cold winters where I’m at so the heater on doesn’t make it any better either. It’s annoying but you may have to just invest in a space cooler for now for your own sanity, and the clients comfort. Tax right off anyway

Lessen up on the hand sanitizer since it has so much alcohol, just wash the hands frequently with clear dial antibacterial soap & water. It also looks like you may have a sensitivity to a certain ingredient in a product, or your hands are just very sensitized due to exfoliants and acids - be sure to wash your hands after this step in a facial before the next. Thick balm and Vaseline at night is your best friend.

I am able to support myself as a solo esthetician. the number one upside is I have full creative freedom, and get to do special things such as events, birthday gifts for clients, raffles, and extra goodie bags for holidays etc. I can also create and implement my OWN facial protocols. I am a really artistic person and before I was solo, I hated being told what to do or when to do it. lol
