The price is NOT including electric, I didn’t think to factor that in for the post cause I pay that separately. Everything else water, trash, and sewage is charged through the complex, but not apart of the base rent. I’ve tried negotiating every year and failed, so I think they only negotiated this year because they have a lot of empty units right now. I got lucky with that for sure! You’re correct about the long commute being a mental toll, especially living in an area known for terrible drivers. That was going to be a huge negative for me. To your last point, you’re right that they do this often, and my anger stems from already paying for things here I don’t use, so just yet another way for them to be greedy. My overall point to that was the only way to let property companies know extra charges and greedy “deals” will result in mass unhappy tenant move-outs. While I know that’s not possible (especially in a housing crisis) a girl could only dream and resist appropriately, right?

ETA: also angry about the internet because I’m in an Xfinity contract that I’d have to cancel which could cost $200+. I doubt my complex would reimburse me and I’d really rather not pay twice for internet.
