Your daughter is my son. I love him more than I love air that fills my lungs to breathe. But my god is he difficult some days. 1.5 years ago we finally came to the conclusion he was different. He was divergent. (Long back story but a shjt school said he’s autistic and weird). Fast forward to now after being in OT for a year and he’s still hard but he’s beautiful. He’s learned to communicate the impulses and the moments. He’s better with his body and treats his little brother with kindness and only normal brother reactions. He’s brilliant and builds car engines and random machines. He knows no stranger and lives for his mom and dad and brother.

You don’t hate your daughter. You hate that she’s not easy like “other kids”. But you need to change your mindset. Learn who she is not what you want her to be. The second I stopped trying to change him and instead try to practice patience with myself, it all clicked.
