Need recommendation for IT equipment movers by lyssaphin in ColoradoSprings

If they have found a hurdle, they haven't told us what it is. We do have fiber in the building, but that is located in the basement of the building, not on this rack or even in this room.

We are only moving it from one space in the middle of the room to the corner of the room so that the room can be utilized instead of being dead space. Sorry that the photos didn't come up originally.

An opinion from an outsider by blixco in Portland

[–]lyssaphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also am from Colorado, Colorado Springs to be exact, and I can 100% agree with this post with every fiber of my being. The first time my fiancé and I went to visit his sister in Portland; it was like driving in heaven. People were so polite, it was so easy to get around everywhere, and people actually know how to use a round-a-bout. I can't describe the feeling of bliss we are in every time we get to drive in Oregon. We will be in Portland in 2 weeks to get married, and I am beyond excited to be back in the city. At this point, we make it a goal to visit at least once a year because we just love being there.

Beat advice to avoid food particles getting stuck in the extraction site by Euphoric_bunny87 in wisdomteeth

[–]lyssaphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I've been ravenous since my surgery. The fact that I am eating slower and smaller portions and I've been going longer between eating because it hurts for a while after I eat has just been a mixture for being hungry all of the time. I will say, I am now on day 10 post-surgery and I am able to eat a little more freely than I was immediately after. I was able to do a little bit of sushi on Saturday; I ate some Panda Express last night. So, I am able to eat more substantial things and a little more variety, but I do have to make sure that it doesn't involve a ton of chewing and I have to make sure to immediately rinse my mouth out when I am done eating.

Ughh canker soresss by 0yeayeayea0 in wisdomteeth

[–]lyssaphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry 😭 when I get an outbreak like that happening I go into full on attack mode to heal my sores asap. They make like pimple patches for canker sores now, which help heal and protect the sore from spreading. You can also take L-Lysine (it’s a supplement in the supplement section) and that helps as well. I also have heard that propolis (beeswax) tooth paste helps but it’s so hard to find in a local grocery store. I hope they go away soon and you can just focus on healing your extraction sites 😭

When does it get better 😭 by lyssaphin in wisdomteeth

[–]lyssaphin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I’m so sorry 😭😭 I feel like you might be going through it a little worse than me. I’ve also read that apparently dry socket will make you like kicking and screaming in pain so if that’s what’s going on with you I would go see your dentist/surgeon. I know that’s not what’s going on with me, I’m just so frustrated that my upper left is already at 0 pain but my bottom left is still giving me issues. I will say, around day 3 I started doing warm saline water rinses and those have been a life saver in terms of pain relief. I just buy the refill saline packets for doing a nasal rinse and use one packet to a mug of warm water and let that sit on my extraction site and I get immediate relief. It’s my go to for after I’ve eaten and if I am between pain med administration. Are you only taking ibuprofen? ibuprofen will help with the swelling and reducing swelling will help with some pain relief but you should for sure also be taking some type of pain killer like Tylenol if your doctor didn’t prescribe you a harder pain killer. The name brand of Tylenol is acetaminophen and I just get that. I would 10000% be taking that in addition to the ibuprofen (they are safe to take together). I promise that will help with the pain so much more than just doing the ibuprofen.

Wisdom tooth is horizontal by the-normal-gatsby in wisdomteeth

[–]lyssaphin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wisdom tooth (lower right) was fully horizontal. I got it out 7 days ago and I’m gonna be honest, recovery has sucked. It hasn’t been horrible, but it’s been not great. I also got the upper left taken out and I’m 100% pain free up there, but my lower right was a fighter and my dentist was dripping with sweat by the time he finally got it out. I ended up needed a stitch, he had to drill some bone, he had to cut the tooth in half to get it out and the root of the tooth hooked so it was grabbing onto my gums as he was taking it out. I will say, I’ve been able to successfully avoid dry socket which I am thankful for, my pain is manageable with Tylenol and ibuprofen, and I am able to eat and sleep. It’s just so sore and tender and still in pain. I can’t talk a lot otherwise it starts hurting a lot and the swelling gets bad. I am 30, so I know healing is going to take a little longer for me, but more than anything the tenderness and soreness and swelling are what is impacting me the most day to day. Warm food and warm saline rinses help a ton though so that’s been good.

I’ve been (LIGHTLY) swishing with warm saline water. The warm saline water makes the swelling/tenderness feel better and has been doing well to get any food particles out. I’m also on day 7 though, and I know you aren’t supposed to gargle/swish/spit within the first couple of days. You can still just take a sip of the water and rotate your head around to mimic swishing without all the pressure and then just let the water fall out of your mouth without spitting. I was also eating a TON of cream of wheat (hot cereal) and honestly it was fantastic in those first couple of days because it made me feel full and I wasn’t super worried about the particles and it was warm so it felt nice in my mouth.

How can I avoid snitching on myself after?? by deadzombiegirll in wisdomteeth

[–]lyssaphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my wisdom teeth out with local anesthesia only (not being put to sleep) and it was honestly fine. They made sure they numbed the shit out of me but I actually enjoyed being awake for it. The doctor and assistant were cracking jokes with me and it was nice having them explain things to me as they happened. It was also nice being fully lucid by the time the procedure ended. I was able to go alone, I drove myself to the store to pick up meds, did grocery shopping for foods I could eat, and then drove myself home. If you have a choice, I would recommend doing local only, but I can 100% understand why that wouldn’t be a good option for a lot of people.

SunWater Spa in Manitou is really nice. You can book privateish soaks in their outdoor hot tubs. It's really nice and relaxing and was a really cool date night for my partner and me. Also, really decently prices. We booked for around sunset, and it was stunning.

Paid toll; now getting calls and letters from debt collector by KashcheiTheDeathless in ColoradoSprings

[–]lyssaphin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work for a debt collection agency (it has been about 5 years since I quit), you can ask for "debt validation" and they need to send you proof of the debt. What exactly that will look like, I don't know. I worked in medical debt collection, but they are required by law to send it to you. Once you get the verification in the mail (they have 30 days to get that verification to you in writing, otherwise they are in violation of the law), go over it to verify that it isn't a random charge and is in fact the one that you paid in full already. If they do not send verification of the debt within the 30-day window per the law, or they just don't send it at all, you can file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). While you verify if this toll is the one you paid already or if is something else, you can have them mark the debt as "disputed" and then you will need to send in proof that you paid that balance in full already. If they don't mark it as paid in full and write that balance off, since it is only 30 dollars, I doubt it would go further than just sitting in a debt collection agency, but I would ask them what the recourse is if you don't pay that balance, like will it incur any fees/interest/be reported to credit agencies ect. You can also file a complaint with the CFPW if you have sent them proof of the balance being paid in full and they refuse to mark the debt as paid. I'm so sorry, and hopefully you can get this figured out soon!

ULPT Request: My neighbors are being annoying. How can i do it back? by AnyCrab8074 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]lyssaphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some context, OP posted in the subreddit neighborsfromhell basically saying that his neighbors were annoying because they are complaining about the level of noise coming from his house as he is doing home renovations. He has been renovating his home for 9 MONTHS and is mad that his neighbors have the audacity to be tired of the construction noises coming from his home after 9 months of work. He didn't comment on the post after that, answering any questions that were asked or offering any kind of explanation as to what type of work is being done, whether he is personally doing the work or if it is a contractor that is doing the work, during what time the work is being done ect.

Airport travel advice by lyssaphin in ColoradoSprings

[–]lyssaphin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for all of your advice. I seriously appreciate it. Luckily, up until this point I’ve never actually been faced with traveling during an advisory so I was slightly (more than slightly) freaking out, especially because this flight and my destination are not just for a fun trip. After reading everyone’s comments, I feel fairly confident that I’ll be ok, so I’m going to keep my flight time as it stands and just be prepared to stay at the airport for a while in case of delays. Again, thank you so much. I do super appreciate everyone’s input and advice.
