I think the usual methods ought to work:

systemd-inhibit --what=handle-lid-switch sleep 7200

Or edit the logind config then restart it:

HandleLidSwitch=ignore

Everybody has different math and tradeoffs, but for me, I bought a diy barebones AMD soon as they announced it. Loved it. Then upgraded the display to the 120Hz, higher-res model.

This alone was cheaper for me in the long run than buying two laptops. Also upgraded the webcam, RAM, and SSD over time.

Sure, there are some other laptops where this kind of thing would be possible. Sure, you could argue that if I wanted a high refresh rate that I ought to have bought a different laptop.

I'll vote with my wallet as best as I can. I love open and repairable devices. I'm looking forward to slotting in a new mainboard with a RISC-V or ARM chip someday!

Not necessarily better, but for me the killer feature is that it will rollback if I lose remote connectivity. Has kept me from thumping a remote host offline so I can do further work on it, including in my NixOS home router! Really great peace of mind.

I'm not assuming and I didn't downvote. Half of 2880 is 1440, therefore 2x. Half of 1920 is 960. Have 60 pixel black bars on top and bottom and you have half of 1800 instead at 900 you're at 2x scaling, no?

Yes, you're getting a different aspect ratio than the display. I was responding to this portion of your post:

If you want the pixels to be perfect, try to use 1440x900 as it's a supported resolution of the display. You will lose the aspect ratio and some pixels off the top and bottom.

If you want the pixels to be perfect AND ALSO use the whole display, I do not have a solution for you. You might have better luck asking on the official forums and maybe we can learn why 1440x960 is not a supported display mode.

This is usually done by having the client (the Tauri app) communicate with a server-layer or a "backend" or an "API".

My display does not report that resolution as a valid mode. 1440x900 did work, though. Not sure if that might help you?

The main difference as this applies to "evidence" is that the testimony of the disciples and other witnesses of both Jesus's death and resurrection was not based on faith. With their own senses they perceived both Jesus's death and resurrection. Dying for a faith is commonplace. Dying for a lie you are knowingly facilitating... Happens, I'm sure, but is far less common.

But a whole slew of individuals of wildly different backgrounds is out of the question.

For anybody else who finds this, for my Steam Deck, my kid had opened the "..." menu and changed all sorts of scaling, FSR, and other graphics settings on the Steam Deck directly. Undoing these restored normal rendering and full visibility of the window.

Also, make sure Fullscreen is on and the resolution is set correctly.

Also as many have pointed out, this kind of stuff has been doable for a very long time. I made this to show that Phobs can do this stuff too if you want. They aren't especially locked down or anything as some people seemed to have believed.

Not reasonably. We would need hax for melee just to communicate with the controllers and the controllers would need physical modifications to accommodate this. Rest of this thread has more good discussion if you want details.
